BOYNTON BEACH Police say three women caught in the act of shoplifting in the Boynton Beach Mall Wednesday only piled on their problems when one hit a pregnant security guard in the face and police found marijuana on another.
And when the women called a friend to take care of the children who were with them on their alleged shoplifting spree, that friend was busted when police learned there was an outstanding warrant for her arrest.
All of this according to the Boynton Beach Police overnight report.
Police were called to the Boynton mall at 801 N. Congress Ave. at 5:22 p.m. Wednesday, according to the log.
The overnight log and the Palm Beach County Jail records show that 23-year-old Tenika Rivers of Lake Park was arrested for strong arm robbery and battery on a pregnant female. Stephanie Corbett, also 23, of Palm Springs was arrested for "her part in the theft of $386.56 in merchandise from Macy's." Marjorie Casseus, 20, of Lake Park, was arrested for retail theft, resisting merchant security and possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana.
Denice Caster, 38, of Greenacres, arrived to take custody of the juveniles who were with the three alleged shoplifters and was arrested when a computer check revealed she had a warrant out for her arrest, the reports show. Caster also turned out to have 7 1/2 pills but not the required prescription for them, police reported.
All four women were booked into the jail shortly after midnight and are expected to appear before a judge this morning.
There was no immediate information provided about custody of the juveniles.
