just add 10 bucks more and the decent card that you can get is an X800 GTO for PCIe set-up and for AGP I think you can only get a 6600 GT.

For $128 you can get a X1600Pro 256MB PCI-E, definately faster than a 6600GT.

x1600pro is faster in some games not all. in fact the 6600gt even beats the x1600xt in quite a few games.

Have picked up a couple, and nothing touches these at that price.

With no mods needed, it scores:
4487 3dm2k5
10885 3dm2k3
25790 in 3dm2k1se
All madonion tests show it as an x850 Pro, not an x800 or x800GTO.
256 bit memory easily runs at 900MHz.
12 pipes.

Also, if you are like most low budget gamers, you may not have a great power supply.
Luckily, this x800 does not require additional power, and even works great in my Opteron system with a whimpy (but great quality) 220w power supply!!! That is just an example of what you can use. You should still use at least a 350w power supply with modern systems. Hard to do with many mATX cases.

A 6600gt would be a good choice. The x1600xt/pro (or whatever) might be good too. They both support SM3 and run games pretty nicely.

Yes.. I heard all newegg refub videocards are returns from failed overclocking..

Definitely not all. Some are bounced back due to inadequate power supplies/line quality/inexperience of the customer.

However, a X800GTO2 'refurb' is most certainly a bounceback because someone either hosed up the BIOS flash to XTPE, or cranked up the card's clock until it fried. It's less possible the card was also defective from the factory. In either case, the egg doesn't fix the cards, they just send em to the next guy.

I wouldn't touch that one with a barge pole. That's a *very* popular newbie tweaker card, and the only reason to choose this model over e.g. the fireblade card is intention to mod and overclock sky high.
