I was never a big fan of CC but they were close so when I needed something I would head there as I preferred it over Best Buy.

And speaking of Best Buy, there are two of them less than 10 minutes from that CC.

Depends how the liquidation is handled. There's a couple liquidation companies out there that do in fact jack with prices the night before the liquidation process. They put higher priced stickers on there to bring the "after discount" price almost to the same level as the everyday retail price, if not actually higher.

And yeah, it is a sham, but any buyer that does their homework knows this.

They were selling those X-240s for $29.99 last week (I still have the receipt), Z-2300 for $124.99 I think, etc. Don't expect any actual "deals" out of this.

That's their normal sale/non-sale prices. The liquidation markups are quite a bit different.

The extended warranties are covered by third party insurance companies. You lose the in-store ability to get service, but the warranties should be fine (provided the insurance company doesn't go belly up).

Agreed....at least in CC's case.

When I went to one of the stores near me that was part of the original 155, their "liquidation-everything-must-go" prices for Harmony remotes were higher than the non-sale prices at a Best Buy across the street.

I knew that they were closing some stores, and had a feeling this wasn't that far off. It became really apparent when they weren't stocking any of the new PC games like COD: World at War in any of their stores. I'm sad to see them go as I definitely preferred them to Best Buy (another company that's in awful shape).

I'll tell you one thing, there were some amazing deals at the Circuit Cities around me that already closed (all the GA ones went away in my area already).

I got 2 PS3 games for $6 each, 1 for $8 and one for $12 and DVD's were about $4 each.
