I entertained the possibility of joining the military, but both of my grandfathers (wwII vets, grandpad vik in occupied france, and grandpa shelton on okinawa) told me not to enlist.

If you want a challenge purchase some arable land and build yourself a sustainable homestead.

Dude, my marine buddies had hilarious drill instructor stories from their time at boot camp. Keep your eyes and ears open and you'll be entertaining crowds with those stories for years to come!

Good luck man, IMHO you couldn't have picked a better route. I was a Navy Nuke ET when I did my time, but if it were mine to do over I'd pick a tour in the corps. My hat's off to ya. :beer:
