Goodbye NX, hello Switch

New Kirby game is pretty fun. It's pretty easy like most Kirby games but it's just fun Nintendo platforming with the expected polish/charm.

Getting it for my daughter who turns 8 on Thursday for her Bday and she loved Star Allies and it's hugely forgiving coop mode, so hoping that it will be fun for us.

Haha, we've been playing og Halo coop campaign on Gamepass lately so should be a change of pace

Yeah my son's birthday was yesterday so I got it for him on Friday and we coop'd it for like 2 hours. It's a fun coop game just make sure you let your daughter play as 1 player since that is who Kirby is and player 2 has different weapon sets.

I'm enjoying Triangle Strategy right now, has pretty much everything I like in an RPG/tactics. I will say my OCD does work against me as I want to keep pushing to "finish" characters before every battle.

If you don't like back story or reading/listening to it, definitely stay away from this one. I find it a good change of pace and am enjoying the all the back story.

Not surprised honestly. I’m not sure Nintendo has anything coming this year that will make me turn the system on though.

Kirby is good but it's pretty much what you would expect from a Kirby game. Nothing ground breaking or anything and it's super easy as all Kirby's are, but it's just fun. A nice change of pace from Elden Ring, although I've barely played it lol since I am not done with Elden Ring and I'm still hooked on it. My son did finish it already though.

Splatoon 3 comes out this year which is also huge. My son loves that game too and is super hype for it. I never got much into that franchise but it's definitely a cool one and I enjoy watching him play it and I like playing it sometimes too. I'm just not into shooters like that (FPS or 3PS) but can give them a go sometimes.

Splatoon is not for me. My girlfriend’s niece and nephew played it a lot when it came out. I watched them play it then I tried it, just not my thing.

My son (7) loves Splatoon as well. He has it for the Wii U and since I recently purchased a new switch, I plan to grab him Splatoon 3 this Sept. Not my thing either.

The new footage of Splatoon 3 looks very similar to part 2. It looks like it could just be DLC. I got Splatoon 1 for my son when a buddy gave me his Wii U cause he wasn't using it and my son loved part 2, so he played part 1 after 2. Seeing them, part 2 straight up just looks like a higher res version of part 1.

That said, Splatoon 2 had a bunch of single player content so I'm guessing part 3 will also have a ton of it.

My son is super excited for part 3 aside from knowing it was coming out in "summer" and it won't be out until he starts 2nd grade and out of summer break lol.

Pretty good Direct today. Switch finally gets Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal, with Royal coming out 10/21. Finally gets NieR Automata on 10/6. Finally gets Portal 1 & 2, available now. Then Monster Hunter Sunbreak. And Blanc looks really solid for February 2023. The Legend of Wright looks really interesting too.

Blanc was the only game that is of any interest to me and doesn't come out for a long time.

Played Death's Door for like 9 hours on my flights to/from Roatan.

Awesome game. The atmosphere and artwork is top notch for a smaller game. And the music is just wow.

It's funny supposed insiders have been leaking those ports as well as Metroid Prime Trilogy for at least two years now.

While it is 8 months or so, I decided to play through Breath of the Wild again. Just about done everything again, for the 3rd time. And I finish it to completion. Wonder if Tears of the Kingdom will have Korok seeds ?

So some reviews are out and seems like NieR Automata got an absolute first rate port, have even seen the phrase miracle port thrown out for it. Which is great to read because this is an absolute must play for anyone who hasn't gotten to it on PS4, XBox, or PC yet. Plus it's $40 when this is one of the few games out there worth it at the full price $60. Don't even want to say why the game is a rock solid 10/10 because of spoilers, but I will throw out that it probably has the best soundtrack of any game I have played in the last forty years.

Same here. I havent used my switch in nearly a year or so. I want Bayonetta 3 but am not wanting disappointment.

Ugh I'm an enormous fan of the Shin Megami Tensei series but once I saw there were references in the code to Steam and Playstation versions I haven't wanted to play Shin Megemi Tensei V, so far a Switch exclusive, because I keep thinking the second I get 20 hours in it'll get announced for Steam and PS4/PS5. 30 fps is something I don't know if I'd be able to get used to again now that I have 60 fps on both PC and PlayStation. And it doesn't even run 30 fps, it runs in the 20s most of the time docked or handheld. And docked the resolution is only dynamic from 720p to like 892p.

Graphics on Switch are fantastic. Many of the Nintendo games have better art styles than a lot of games on PS5 and XSX.

I go back and forth between PS5 and Switch for the most part, but Switch gets most of the play. Not so much recently though as I've not been playing any console games, but with God of War in a week or so, PS5 will be getting some more play time.

But I have 2 flights coming up mid-November so Switch will also be used on those.
