One thing I'm wondering is why they don't have any 4k support of any kind

Also, Ultra Street Fighter II is $40 what the hell? That game should be $10 at most. It's not even a brand new version of it, it's a port of a 360 era game.

I honestly kinda get why they didn't- they didn't want to even get CLOSE to 4K or the expectations that come with it in the gaming community. Makes sense when it can't run Zelda at 1080p perfectly.

And I agree, Ultra Street Fighter II for $40 is nuts. Pocket Rumble will be $10 and will also be a console exclusive for Nintendo if someone wants a retro fighter. The Joycons as is aren't really great for a fighting game away.

Actually looking at it is seems that the lineup is full of overpriced games trading on nostalgia alone. Not only USF2, but Bomberman for the Switch is $50! and only runs at 30 fps. 1 2 Switch is also $50 party game like the Wii's Wii Play, except Wii Play was $80 with a then hard to find Wiimote. I am not buying any of this overpriced crap, not when NEW and complete games I want to play like Snipperclips and Has-Been-Heroes are $20 each.

That's so true. I just wanted to let get Zelda, nothing else interested me, but my fiancée remembers playing Bomberman when she was younger so she wants that. I just don't think it's worth $50 either. Snipperclips definitely looks good for the price, no arguments there, I'm picking that up as well.

Lol if my wife actually wanted to play any of these Switch games with me I would easily pay the price! Even stupid 1 2 Switch.

As it is I kinda hope that if Snipperclips doesn't catch her interest (it probably won't) then ARMs with two full Joycons will. She has a very Crossfit mentality so I think pretending to punch will me to a pulp will appeal to her. The problem is that basically makes ARMs a very expensive game to play properly 2 player (game+$80 Joycons). I will justify it because I NEED the blue neon Joycons for vanity reasons (the grey including ones look eh).

You can get it in two days from Amazon. Heck, they've shipped things to me with next day delivery because they didn't ship it until the day before I was supposed to get it.

On the other hand, while they did get Horizon to me on the release day, I ordered Gears of War 4 5 days before release and they didn't even ship it until after release day...which pissed me off, because they were advertising same day delivery with Amazon Now.

Actually I usually DON'T get 2 day delivery with Amazon Prime.

So the dock is just a power adaptor and a USB plug for video out and power.

And it costs $90.

Uh, have you ever priced a USB C to HDMI adaptor that also has multiple USB ports? Even no name ones on Amazon go for $70+:

I am not saying $90 isn't nuts, but $25 is a little off too. These USB C adaptors are expensive across the board for some reason. I think around $60 with an additional power adaptor would be fine.

One interesting point is they won't sell the docks until late April, so anyone wanting one before then would have to buy a dock from someone with a Switch who wouldn't use it. Therefore if you were buying the Switch to be a portable console (ie Vita or 3DS replacement) then you could sell the dock early on for easily $60+ on Ebay and basically get a Switch for $250 or less.

You'll probably have to go at midnight unless that specific best buy doesn't do midnight openings then at like 9 or whenever they open. Since they sold out like hot cakes on pre-orders I assume walk in will go fast as well

So the guy at Gamestop told me my store will get like five pro controllers (that aren't pre-orders) for ALL of their stock for a while. A picture of the stock of Switch stuff at a Bestbuy I saw had four pro controllers for 30+ Switches.

Given the sync issues with the Joycons, and the fact that so many reviews talk about what a better experience the pro controller is, I personally think you will be screwed for a while if you don't go at midnight and that week 1 pro controllers will go for a larger % market on ebay than actual Switch consoles will.

Personally I would try out Wal-Mart if you don't want to go at midnight. From pictures I have seen they will get 5-6 as well, but their primary audience (families) are less likely to pay the premium for a pro controller vs say Gamestop's primary audience.

I just called a few GameStops. The one right by me said they will have extras but they won't know how many until tomorrow. I also told him about my fuckup with Zelda and I need a Switch version still. He said they aren't taking preorders for the controller anymore but are for Zelda lol. It's so dumb they will let people preorder extra stock of Zelda but not the controllers.

Anyways he said he expects it to be "bonkers" at midnight tomorrow. I'm going to call them up and see how many extras they have tomorrow around like 7pm or so and then if they say they have like 5 or 10 I may head over there around 11 and just see how the line is, and depending how it, stay or I'll just be fucked for a while.

I leave for work around 6 every day so Friday won't be fun getting up if I stay there.

Are you talking about going to a Walmart at midnight or just Friday morning? I don't have any Walmarts that close to me either but there is one near my job.

I didn't care about the pro controller at all until I read about all the joycon issues and how uncomfortable it is. I mean the buttons and analog sticks on the right side just look like they are all in the wrong places too, it just never looked comfortable.

Yea, it's because it has to be be small for it to be portable. The buttons look 3DS size. That's why I ordered the Pro. Plus since I needed an extra full controller. It's MUCH cheaper than buying a Joycon set. It's ridiculous how expensive it is to buy two Joycons to function as one full extra controller, $80 plus $15 for the grip.

If they say it sucks other than the frame rate dip, I'm gonna cancel mine if it hasn't shipped yet or just return it if it has. Welcome to the Nintendo effect. That is why I went ahead and pre-ordered pretty much everything I want Switch-wise for 2017 including the games that will have physical releases.

I wasted SOOOO much money when the Wii came out on accessories and stupid worthless games and the fact I bought my Wii for extra off craigslist. I want to avoid going down that path with the Switch.

PS4 controller msrp is $65, and has significantly worse battery life. $70 is really perfectly inline with MSRP of the competition, it's just that PS4 and Xbox stuff is old enough now that you can pretty much always find it on sale.

I paid less than MSRP for a brand new PS4 controller on day one of launch. They weren't hard to find either which is the reason you will not find a switch pro controller at a discount. If they were on shelves everywhere in large numbers and you did some real shopping around I am pretty sure you'd find one a bit less than $70. Even so, $70 is overpriced. The pro controller is hardly the equivalent of a new Xbox one or PS4 controller which has a lower msrp and comes with audio outputs. You are paying Nintendo tax here much like how they don't discount first party games even years after they launch.

Plus with the system, you can't use headphones in TV mode. Why for some reason they didn't even at the bare minimum put a headphone jack in the Pro controller and make the option to pay more. Many of us have people we don't want to disturb.

I did the same with the Switch Pro Controller. I got it for $53 preordered, got the Joycon charging grip for $23 preordered, got another Joycon for $74 preordered (and I could have done better there but it was out of stock in the color I wanted when the best deal was going on). I just had to be aggressive about committing when I had the opportunities for those deals.

Counterpoint is I bet I could get a Xbone controller for like $35 with the same amount of effort, but you can get Nintendo stuff on sale if you try.

Eh, that might be a little bit of hyperbole. The Switch Pro Controller has better battery life than the PS4 controller, works better with a Steam/PC out of the box, has HD Rumble and has a NFC reader. I do think it is about $10 too expensive (hence why I only bought it on sale), but I think it is pretty equivalent to other console controllers for what it does. My biggest beef with it is no analog triggers.
