It's retarded that Nintendo basically obligates you to buy an sd card because in this day and age 32gb isn't nearly enough. I could probably fit 9-10 games on my PS4's default hdd. Good luck fitting ten Switch games on what Nintendo gives you. This system nickel and dimes fans harder than any machine I've ever seen Nintendo release.

Well I don't plan to do many digital games so it's not bad for me. If someone wanted to do digital entirely it would be a problem which I did mention before. A huge negative to be sure.

I've heard that some screen protectors peel up or bubble when the system is docked and heats up. Any recommendations there? I see Zagg makes an HDX one and I have these on my last two iPhones, but this is a $300 device vs a $800 phone so I dunno if it's worth $30.

Not the official ones, they suck. I am going glass next.

As far as Micro SD I think 64GB is fine but I got a 128GB because my Wal-Mart (and maybe yours) has a pile of them for $35 each. I have already downloaded my games on a new Switch and brought them back without calling them so I have more confidence I their online system than I used to.

The best multiplayer game to show off the Switch so far is the free Japanese demo of Puzo Puyo Tetris. Log into your Nintendo account online, change to Japan, go on eShop on Switch and download the demo. Once downloaded change your account back to US online and try to play the game. It should work it does for me.

In the main menu pick the square second to the right. Then pick the first option and pick characters. Once characters are picked chose the Tetris and not puyo puyo mode and whatever skin. Then in the next screen just hit A and play some regular two player Tetris with the two Joycons for two out of three rounds.

If you want to mess with more here is the translations:

https://puyonexus.com/wiki/Puyo_Puyo_Tetris_Menu_Translation

I will say song 10 is Tetris music to make it more authentic.

Just looked and I do see that my local Walmart has sandisk 128GB cards for $35. May just do that

I also like the $8 Joycon covers Walmart sells. They don't work with the grip but the feel great in every other mode. Worth it if you have a pro controller.

Explain...why would I want covers for the joycons if I am using a pro controller?

So naturally because the Switch uses cartridges ,which are more expensive to make than discs, that's why games on the Switch are more expensive than the same game on PS4 or Xbox. We all pretty much knew this would happen when they announced it was going to use cartridges. It mostly affects smaller developers that aren't going to sell as much as larger developers that can eat the higher cost of carts.

No issues with my glass screen protector. It actually fells a lot nicer than the stock plastic screen My dock doesn't scratch my switch, but I wanted to protect the screen anyways. It went on beautifully as well, no stuck bubbles.

The official screen protector is exactly the same size as the screen. It's annoying to put on exactly right, but I finally did it. Unfortunately I had to peel it off so many times that two of the corners bent a little, and don't adhere anymore. It looks really good otherwise, but I ordered that glass one, since they are cheaper than the plastic one anyway.

Yeah but the big releases will always be $60 anyway no matter what system you have. This might force some games to be digital only though eating up that sd card.

I really don't like that article. RIME's developer never outright says that is the reason, and they admit as much. Eurogamer just wants to speculate for clicks.

Every other physical game for the Switch is the same price as other platforms despite cartridge costs. Has-been-heroes is the same $20 for a cartridge on the Switch as the rest of the consoles so it can't be crazy prices for cartridges. Binding of Isaac is $4 more expensive physically on the Switch than the equivalent Steam bundle. I think that more represents true costs than RIME's $10 price hike.

I think the RIME price hike is due to a completely different reason. The port for the Switch is being done by a group outside of the core development team, and my theory is they are trying to dump those additional porting costs onto Switch owners because they plan to make X amount on each game and the Switch version is more expensive to make. That is all fine and good until you realize that many other companies are having outside developers port their games to the Switch (there is one studio that is doing around four Switch ports this year alone because they have the most experience) without charging the extra price.

I predict RIME will flop on the Switch because of the controversy and developers will be a little more gunshy about moving to the platform before the tools make it easier.

Puyo Puyo Tetris is more expensive as well so it's not the only one.
I will buy it on the Switch instead of other platforms because my girl can play it anywhere so it's added value but it's not good for the Switch to have more expensive games than its competition. It hurts the Switch brand. Nintendo should be addressing this but Nintendo is Nintendo

How big of a price difference will be too much? I see this game is a $10 difference but maybe the portable aspect makes it more appealing like you said. The question is though if the $10 costs sales or if other publishers will follow this trend.

I think that one will be cheaper digitally. The physical release comes with some trinkets in the box you are paying for. I will probably buy it though, already sunk a few hours in the Japanese demo.

Really the price difference we see consistently is for first party accessories.

The article on game pricing says that there can't be a difference between the cost of the digital and physical version of the game. Now, you can have different versions of the physical, which is what you got with Breath of the Wild. Although, I'm guessing that if the only physical version is the one with the extra crap, it has to be priced the same.

The Switch Puyo Puyo Tetris is a limited edition run that comes with keychains. I think that is how they get away with the price discrepancy.

Who says there can't be a price difference? Is this something Nintendo is dictating or are you speaking in general? With all the BS I've read about the used market you would think that they would incentivize buying digital by offering a slight discount. I am really surprised this has not happened at all. I know that the disc and case don't constitute a huge cost for a publisher but even so, they have much more control over the usage with a digital game. Though there seems to be nothing keeping Amazon and Best Buy from offering 20% off new physical games to their members (Prime and Gamer Club Unlocked respectively) which is good for me because when Persona 5 releases I will be getting the premium edition with all the extras for $75.

It was in one of those articles about Switch games being more expensive than others and such.
