X Rays are out. It's a stock X1.
Basically a shield tv.

So Nintendo is setting that rule. I can see why they would want it that way, but still sucks. That means no sales, ever.Yea a Switch article I read said there can't be a price difference between digital and retail.
Really? That's pretty bad
Yeah the Eurogamer leak in December was right on the money. 768MHz docked and 307MHz portable.
It has a 1GB extra ram than the Shield TV though. Honestly I really don't care, BOTW is the best open world game I have ever played by far.
If they would have modified it they could have had higher performance in dock mode. Not being fast enough in dock mode really hurts it a lot unless Zelda was some anomaly of bad performance.
Games that actually utilise a lot of data are relatively thin on the ground at the moment, so The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is our primary testing point for loading times, and the key takeaway is fascinating. Take a look at a Switch cart and you'll see plenty of connection pins, suggesting a meaty interface capable of very, very fast transfers. Meanwhile, with our Extreme Plus MicroSD, we were fairly sure we'd have a contender there as the loading time king. However, the end results are dramatically conclusive - it's the 32GB of onboard NAND within the Switch that is clearly the fastest storage interface in the system.
Yea definitely faster and doesn't make me regret getting a 200GB card instead of something faster since it doesn't matter anyways.Any of those methods would be pretty fast though. At least faster than a HDD

Yeah way faster than the 5400rpm drives the PS4/PS4 Pros come with. I wonder if the limit is the MicroSD port or the MicroSD card. The two cards seem close in the test.
So I think something is screwed up with the Switch network stack. When I disable wifi I get fewer fps drops and I am not the only one. Apparently going the Ethernet route doesn't help, just something in the network stack is using too much CPU. Seeing as how I have all of one online game I am willing to do it for Zelda but hopefully Nintendo will fix that crap soon.
This is how it has always been sadly. It's a big deal when Nintendo throws a digital sale and even then it's only like 20% or something. We call this phenomenon "The Nintendo Tax".So Nintendo is setting that rule. I can see why they would want it that way, but still sucks. That means no sales, ever.

Thinking of this, is there a way to install a physical cart onto the system in any way? I'm assuming no, since then you could just install the game then sell it. Though, maybe it could still require the cart to be inserted to play it, like old PC games. So internal memory of Switch is fastest for loading times and cartridges are the slowest. Getting a SD card faster than
UHS-1 doesn't make a difference either as the Switch doesn't take advantage of it.

Nope. You can't even move games you downloaded from the Micro SD to the internal storage without redownloading the data.
The Nintendo Switch is selling way more than Nintendo expected. They are going to double production:

Despite the issues I think they have a hit on their hands. It really is a great second console if you already have a PC/XB1/PS4 (and anyone who cares a little about games probably does at this point).
This news will be very good as far as enticing third parties too. Nintendo might dominate E3 if they can score one big AAA third party title, something new with VC, and a game in a series we all want.
