Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow that looks incredible!! Found a copy to embed:

Wow that preview has completely sold me: I'm going to have to get a Switch this year. That looks like it could be the best Nintendo game since Zelda: A Link to the Past. And is that really going to run at 60 fps? The framerate looks glorious in that preview video. It looks like the most interesting Mario game since Super Mario Brothers 1.

I'm liking Golf Story so far. I probably have like 75-90 minutes into it. It's got a nice little charm to it. It definitely reminds me of an old school RPG with the childish elements in it, but I like the little golf stuff too. The golfing is pretty easy so far but it's still fun.

Wish it had some kind of graphics smoothing though lol. It looks really pixely on my 120" screen. But it looks just like an OG SNES game, in a good way.

It looks like the Mario Odyssey Switch is available for pre-order at Amazon. I'm tempted to get one as a gift, but I'm still hesitant about the game being digital only.

And since when was Odyssey a digital-only game?

I mean that when you buy the Mario Odyssey Switch, you get a digital copy of the game.

Why would one be hesitant because of a digital only game?

Sometimes it comes down to personal preference. Some people prefer selling games when they're done, or they just prefer having a physical copy. For consoles, I tend to prefer that tangible copy, because that's what I'm used to, but for computer games, I couldn't care less. I also tend to be wary of Nintendo's rather poor implementations, but I do see that the Switch is a little bit better.

I'm tempted to see if I can find a sneaky way to inquire as to what he would prefer. He commutes to work via train, which is why I like the Switch as a gift. I'm assuming that not having to deal with game cards isn't a bad thing when using mass public transit.

Yeah I was just curious. If a game is available on both digital and physical, I will get the physical 100% of the time personally. However for the red/black switch and the Mario Odyssey case, I believe the only way to get them is through the bundle. If I didn't have a Switch, I'd definitely get that bundle for that reason.

Ugh why does Mario come out at the same day as Wolfenstein. Sorry BJ, you're getting a back seat to Mario.

Get one now while the stores are currently well stocked with consoles. I have a strong feeling that the game will create shortages all the way up through the holidays.

It's a fantastic game, I love it. It's a top down old school style RPG like game, but you also play golf. People that don't even like golf games are enjoying themselves with it because the golf is just part of the gameplay, and the whole experience is very well done. People are reporting a lot of bugs, and I've had a couple minor ones too, but it's honestly well worth the money.

The dev team was only 2 people too, so pretty impressive.

Yeah I like it a lot. I think I have like 7ish hours clocked in it. I'm level 23. I've actually LOL'd quite a bit at the dialog in this game too, especially when you are doing match play and the opponent says stuff after every shot.

The game does have bugs for sure. I've ran into probably 6 or 7. All of them but 1 were the controller input just not working after some event in the game happened. One time it was getting out of bed, one time it was when I was talking to someone, etc. I had to quit out of the game by pressing the home button and when I loaded it back up it worked fine.

The other bug I saw was when pressing the right thumbstick in during a golf shot to move the camera around, it ended up staying off center. I think I quit out to fix this one as well.

My wife is going to a concert tonight so I plan on playing this for like 2-3 hours once my kid goes to sleep.

We did all our games on the Wii U digital only...soooooo nice. No broken or lost discs, ever.

Had no problem with discs and the Wii U and have always preferred physical copies of games on consoles. However, the switch games are so damn small the kids have already lost Bomberman twice. Really leaning towards digital only.

Finished Golf Story last night. What a great little game with an incredible charm to it. I think my total play time was like 15 hours. There is 1 item I'm missing from the story mode which I will probably get tonight or at some point, just to have everything, but I also just found out last night about the whole drone thing so I want to do that part as well.

I picked up the switch this past weekend to play something different on the big screen and around the house. I picked up Zelda and Mario Kart; the wife and I are having a blast so far! I also got the demo for project octo traveler- that game brings back fond memories of my FF3 days on the SNES. Really dig the visuals as well, recommend for others to give the demo a shot.
