I think I posted about it before, but the Switch would be awesome in a headset that it could snap into on the same rails used for the joycons. I think real VR requires more FPS than the Switch can do, though, so not likely for this gen, imo.I know it's not quite Switch related, but I think Nintendo is going to rock VR at some point. It's disappointing to read about EA taking a break from the Switch. I think they're really missing out and I was hoping for a Madden game. I think that would have sealed the deal for me.
Sega had a VR headset that they nearly released for the Sega Genesis. I'm guessing it was garbage.
Pro controller in my opinion is a necessity for the Switch. I cannot stand playing the Switch with anything else. I hate every other controller option.So Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a HUGE improvement over the Wii U version:
1. The graphics are better. I don't know if it's 1080p & upscaling or what, but one of my biggest complaints about Mario Kart 8 was that there was so much going on graphically that it was hard to focus on the game. For me at least, the game is MUCH easier to see & far more clear. I don't know what to attribute this to, other than enhanced resolution & upscaling (I'm playing on a 4K set).
2. The controls are much better. Even simple things like turning are vastly improved. This did a good job fixing this.
3. People in the back actually get good items in the ? boxes now. That was one of our biggest complaints about the Wii U version...once you lost the lead, or being in the upper group, you were just hosed. They fixed that, yay! We actually went back to playing the original Wii Kart game because we were so unhappy with the Wii U version.
Auto-acceleration is definitely nice for kids, as is the option to either tilt the controller or use the joystick for turning. However, after some more gameplay, the single horizontal JoyCon is no good for adult hands, you get cramped after playing for awhile with just a single JoyCon. Hopefully the Pro controllers go on sale for Cyber Monday or something, very curious to test one out!

Yeah, I'd be surprised if Nintendo did any kind of discounts or specials. It seems like they're selling every single thing they can make these days.
Nintendo is notorious for little to no holiday discounts. Even when the Wii U was barely selling, it had very low discounts (in comparison to other consoles). In some ways, you'll end up getting gift card offers at places like Target if you buy a Nintendo console, and that's about it.
Since I wasn't able to get one on release weekend, have been holding off for a holiday bundle. Having looked through most of the ads, seems like nothing special coming in that realm. Has anyone seen anything different?
A bit more intriguing is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Explorer's Edition, which features the game, a 100-page explorer's guide and a 2-sided map at an MSRP of $59.99. Considering the fact that Breath of the Wild is a must-buy for most people with a Switch, grabbing some extras for that price is pretty much a no-brainer.
Not talking about just getting the console at a discount, but a combo package where the added games or accessories are, but can't believe there has been nothing.
