I paid $10 extra to get Dead Cells physical copy over the e-store copy. I also went out of my way to get Yoku's Island Express physical used for the same price you can buy it on the eShop for. I will take physical over digital any day of the week.

Oh and Dead Cells is like crack.

I have heard good things but I’m still busy with other games. Gonna keep it in mind when I’m itching for something new.

It's an odd game in the sense that I really can't compare it to anything. It's weird because when you die you start back at the beginning with like nothing, every time. But for some reason, it's fun to try and do better again the next time and unlock other stuff. You do unlock stuff that is permanent, but as far as weapons you start with, you start over every time and can make it so you get random weapons at the start too. It's one of those games that is a game you can pick up and play for like 10 minutes and put down, so it fits perfectly with the Switch in that sense.

Pre ordered mario party the other day. I see that people are getting a bit butt hurt the game given some new announcements: can't play board mode online or something and you can't play it with the joy cons attached I believe. Should still be a fun time!

I think your best solution will be a bluetooth transceiver like this: https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Bluetoo...6839856&sr=1-4&keywords=bluetooth+transmitter

It can plug into the headphone jack of the switch, then pair your headphones with it. I would recommend buying a short (6" or less) 3.5mm male to male cable so you can velcro the adapter to the back of your switch or something, and it'd be pretty seamless.
After leaving my Jaybird X2's on an airplane on Saturday because I was using my wired headphones the whole time for my Switch and I left them in the seat back in front of me, I've done a little bit more research on this so that I don't have to carry 2 pairs of headphones around anymore.

It appears that the only real solution is about $40. This is the only one on the market that seems to be latency free.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G49WFVK

The dongle that plugs into the headphone jack appears to have a bit of latency and that is just unacceptable to me for gaming. There is also a kickstarter for this product by Genki that is supposed to ship in November and it's basically the same thing as above except it is BT 5.0 and probably has more features, and it looks like an actual Switch accessory asthetically.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/humanthings/genki-bluetooth-audio-for-the-nintendo-switch

You can still preorder that one for $40 as well through a link on there.

I will probably end up getting one of those and I May get the Genki one since I don't plan on taking any flights in the next month or two anyways so chances are I won't be playing it with headphones on any time soon.

On another note, I went to BB yesterday and bought the Jaybird X4's and they are a noticeable upgrade in sound quality from the X2's.

Those look good. I'd personally wait for the Genki one to get properly released, just in case it has issues (as happens often with Kickstarter). If it's not out by the time for your next flight, the first one should be prime eligible and easy to get quickly.

That is a good point. Paying for the Genki one now will give $10 off as they say the MSRP is $50, but who knows, maybe it's one of those things that will always be had below retail price. I have no clue if it's going to be in mass supply or not either.

Anyone get Crash Bandicoot trilogy for Switch? Is the performance perfect on it? I see it's $30 now and I'm thinking of getting it, although I may wait until Thanksgiving since I'm not really in a rush and that's a game I can see being like $20.

I have it and love it. It plays really well and the performance is near perfect.

Yeah I feel it's a perfect game for the Switch to play on the go while traveling.

Forgot I had a $10 coupon to BB too for being my birthday month. $10 is definitely worth it for a classic (I played the shit out of these games growing up).

Controls in Crash Bandicoot have not aged very well.

I'll probably be fine since I only paid $10 for it, but I'm definitely worried that it's a game that was only good for its time and because I was a kid. Probably won't be able to pick it up until the weekend so I won't know.

Yeah it's not terrible but it shows it's age. There are a lot of deaths in the game due to the controls and camera angles that are somewhat frustrating. I also didn't realize how short the games were. Part 1 only has like 24 levels or something. I played through like 10 levels last night in probably 30 or 45 minutes lol.

So the news going around the past few days suggests we're getting a new Switch SKU in 2019.

If I had to guess, it's going to be about like this :

~5.5" Display, possible clamshell/cover
Same overall specs, die shrunk
Integrated controls, but still support wireless joycons
Kickstand + dongle HDMI/network/USB
25% lighter, bit better battery life

$199

Won't make forum diehards super excited, but it's almost certainly a better mass market idea than a hypothetical Switch 'Pro' with any notable spec boost, for a number of reasons. Current Switch design isn't really priced or sized well for the 10-and-under multiple family member type sales that are lost with 2DS/3DS breathing their last. Devs probably wouldn't be thrilled about extra work making better versions of games for an enthusiast model as well as 30-35M OG switch userbase. A model boosted just enough to allow 1080p on otherwise equal settings wouldn't be very exciting, and not offer a 'value' option for big ongoing sales.

So I could see OG Switch going $259 with minor tweaks (improved screen, better battery life, stronger shell), along with $199 Switch Mini. That opens the door for perhaps $149 MSRP by holidays 2020 if they want to, or simply start bundles/special editions ongoing.

Will be interesting to see how it shakes out. One thing is for sure, 3DS ending is going to leave a huge hole for the sub $200 range, and that level of consumer that has supported Nintendo big-time really going back to the Gameboy in 1989.

I got the switch this year not too long ago so this kind of makes me feel bad but I hope it has built in Bluetooth so you can use wireless headphones.

I'd probably be interested in trading mine in for the new model if these improvements are in there. I only have a few games for it and I haven't played on it in months. I initially got it for Mario and Zelda but I have no idea what to do in breathe of the wild lol.

It just got to the point where I die everywhere I go. Although Mario odyssey is super fun and Rayman rabbids is too. Plus the system is nice to have if you ever need to travel.

Yeah I think it'd be great to see another option form factor/price wise for the lineup. It would be good for everyone. A pure 'Pro' model in the same chunky size would be a little disappointing, and kind of make the owners of the first ~35M units feel like they got a gimpy variant if the gap was significant performance wise. I mean the PS4 Pro and X1X went that route, but the gap between 900p/1080p and FauxK was large enough to mostly eat the performance gap. X1S and Slim are more than enough for 1080p TV owners, and games play pretty much equally outside of rare cases. A performance doubled Switch on the other hand, aiming at 720p 7" and 1080 docked would show dramatic improvement in many games. Holiday 2018 buyers plunking $299 + game + accessories at $400+ out of pocket might feel ripped if a 2019 model kicks its ass less than a year later for the same price (and I really doubt a $399 Switch would sell well, that'd end up being a $500 device with tax + one game).

So I'm 95% sure this is a Switch Mini that's $199ish. 5% shot at a 'Pro', though it's certainly conceivable that very minor improvements are there for Mini and a tweaked model of the original form factor size.

10% shot at 64GB stock storage. It would be awesome, but I think the chances are unfortunately slim.

I wouldn't look too into this new SKU. It is absolutely nothing but rumors at this point and also Nintendo HAS to put out a new revision of the Switch so that they can fix the hacking issue.

I wish they'd make a $199 Switch with no screen to just use as a regular console. $299 is still too steep for me with its limited game library. If it had anything approaching the quality of the 3DS library I'd probably have long since bought one at $299 though.

Limited is definitely not a word I'd use to describe the Switch library. There are tons of great games out for it. I own more Switch games than Xbox One and I've had both since launch. I play my Switch more than any console right now then comes PS4 but that hasn't been touched much since I got God of War, but I did just buy Astro Bot this week too, so that will give PSVR some time.

Also, the portability of the Switch is something I've used A LOT more than I ever would have expected. I fly like 4-5 years for vacations and it's all I do on the plane. Recently I've been playing it a lot on my couch doing runs of Dead Cells or just playing 1 level then turning it off. It's so easy to play for like 10 minutes at a time and just put it down, then go do something else. Then you get right back into the game when you pick it up in like literally 2 seconds. I expected to never use the portability and only play it on my 10 foot screen but that just isn't the case.

I wouldn't say the game library is limited either. I only have like 4 games for it but there are several others I have not bought yet. I'm actually glad I got it even though I have not played it much. Whenever I do pick it up to play I remember why I'm glad I actually have the little console. For me it breaks the divide between PC and PS4 where I can just play a simple game that is based on fun factor rather than graphics or how many frames I'm getting.

Mario odyssey is just so much damn fun. I'm curious in trying Mario party but I think you would need more than one person to play that and enjoy it.

I do think they cant push the price on it too much unless they put in a better battery, bigger screen, and Bluetooth connection, and possibly better resolution when hooked up to the tv.
