My apologies that I sounded like I was attacking all your opinions. To be honest, I only chose a couple of them to address. I could have went on and on.
You are correct. You did say "maybe it's just me", to which I was going to respond "yes, it's just you", but I didn't want it to come across as an direct dig, so I edited that sentence. Regardless of that you're perfectly entitled to your opinion, but a forum is where people debate things.
I personally didn't judge the system that at the time was advancing the possibilities of handheld gaming because it didn't have a feature that nothing else had. Is the lack of games the reason you don't own a switch, or do have a problem with something else it's missing? The first Game Boy with a backlight was the GBA SP (which coincidentally was the first with a built-in battery), which improved on the GBA, which already had a color screen. It was backwards compatible all the way back so it played every Game Boy game in existence at the time. It had a clamshell that protected the screen, and was $99. Can you tell me why that wasn't appealing?
For me:
BOTW
Mario Odyssey
And done. I'd consider Shovel Knight for $8 or whatever you got it for, but Nintendo won't let me switch my region because there's money on the account.
Other than those 2 games the only other game I want is Graceful Explosion Machine. I hope it comes out early April instead of at the end of the month. For me:

I want those two and Mario Kart (I skipped the Wii U). Other than that, all I'm looking forward to is Virtual Console. Hopefully they don't make it subscription only. I'll buy 15-20 games right off the bat easily, but I won't buy any if there's a monthly fee to play them. For me:

I'd probably get Yooka-Laylee for the Switch if it weren't coming out for PC, but it is. Ditto with a few other indie games on the Switch.
Color me surprised, but apparently Lego City Undercover is going to be the first retail Switch title to require an install. While this hasn't been confirmed and could just be a misunderstanding, some leaked photos from the retail box show a warning that reads, "Up to 13 GB storage required for game download." Um, what?
People saying that the 32GB space d
oesn't matter if you buy the physical games on carts.........well welcome to games that need installs anyways even with the physical cart version. So yes, the internal storage size is small, no way around it other than buying more memory.

"Players who purchase Lego City Undercover on Nintendo Switch at retail do not need to download the game to play," a company spokesperson told us.
Right now this is the biggest dilemma I have. The games are coming to a more powerful platform or have been available for some time elsewhere. Not all of them but a good percentage.
Actually the box is possibly wrong:

I guess we find out when it releases.
But still that game is everything that can kill the Switch otherwise. It is a four year old Wii U (and other consoles) game that has no improvements over the Wii U (runs at 720p docked) other than a new multiplayer mode and is being sold for $60 instead of the $20 I can buy it for on the Wii U. To me the game is a crazy ripoff but I never got into Lego games so whatever.
For some of those indie games (aka what the Switch is getting) the extra power of a PC doesn't help. I mean a game that was once on Flash like Binding of Isaac runs pretty much the same on a PC and the Switch. And frankly most of the ports the Switch is getting early on have something new (for consoles) on the Switch, like the new DLC for Shovel Knight or Binding of Isaac. The issue is more it will be $40 for the rest of the year on the Switch, while the Steam version will be on sale for half price this summer probably. At the end of the day you end up choosing between portability and price.
Personally I am trying to target either indie exclusives (like Graceful Explosion Machine or Snipperclips) or games that are releasing on the Switch as the same day as other consoles (like the new Has-Been Heroes game I picked up today). Games like Yooka-Laylee that will release later on the Switch or games like RIME that are more expensive on the Switch I am completely ignoring on all platforms.
There is no Switch-specific DLC for either of these, just early access to new DLC.And frankly most of the ports the Switch is getting early on have something new (for consoles) on the Switch, like the new DLC for Shovel Knight or Binding of Isaac.
Saw one in stock at Walmart just now.My switch should be in today. Caught the Amazon prime restock yesterday and nabbed it at 299.
Mine came in yesterday as well as my sons. It's pretty sweet so far! Zelda should be in today as well. My son got his Zelda yesterday. He's been playing all night.Saw one in stock at Walmart just now.

Once you’ve completed your purchase, your game will automatically download to the system associated with your Nintendo Account. To download the game, your Nintendo Switch console must have enough memory space available and it must be turned on or in sleep mode (with an active Internet connection). The game will appear on your system once the download is complete.
Your download will begin once you wake your Nintendo Switch from Sleep mode.
