You are free to make a bluray copy of your bluray. That is fair use.

You bought a bluray. You didn't buy a file for your computer.

Bullshit. Fair-use doesn't say disc-to-disc is the only valid use case.

Also, disc-to-disc would require me to circumvent the encryption in exactly the same manner. Did you know that?

His argument is literally "I don't think something should be against the law so I won't follow that law".

- a pants shitting retard.
Nope. The law never should have been made to protect content owners at the expense of legitimate users. As I said before, I was a DVD user even before the DMCA existed.

Wow. You speak like you're such an authority on these matters. You seem to think AnyDVD leads to the majority of this pirate content online.

Surprise! Most of these have nothing to do with AnyDVD. The overwhelming majority of AnyDVD users just want to exercise their fair use rights without committing copyright infringement and without re-distributing copyrighted works.

Yup. I guess I just don't know much about piracy. You all seem to know a lot about it though.

As I said fair use means you can make a copy. U get access to a digital copy with your bluray purchase for your devices.

No. Digital copies being pirated are causing me financial harm. Fair use back up of a bluray is another bluray.

Where did you get the idea that "fair use" has to stay on the same medium? Disc-to-tape isn't fair use?

Would it? I didn't know. I assume you could copy a bluray to a bluray-r

Just want to point out that copyright infringement isn't theft. It isn't as a matter of law, and it isn't with anyone that has an elementary school grasp of English. Saying they're the same once is wrong. Saying it a thousand times doesn't make it correct.

Lol. Fuck the users. Without the content producers you don't have shit to do on a Friday night.

You sure ACT like you *know* that AnyDVD is a BIG part of piracy. You seem to KNOW that the majority of AnyDVD users are using it for illegitimate purposes!

You are the one presenting yourself as some kind of expert in this matter. You know us AnyDVD users better than we know ourselves. I had no idea I was a theif for spending thousands of dollars on physical media!

You do understand the difference in scale? Yes?

It's where the 1:1 scale copying started. You under stand that right? It's basically the same thing you're asking of us. BBS also aided in floppy coping to be distributed on a "massive" scale vs sneaker net.

you never answered my questions about copying tapes, CDs, or recording TV.

I didn't realize iTunes was hacked. I guess some work needs to be done there to stop people from stealing. This doesn't mean we shouldn't stop it on all fronts.

FairUse and FairUse4WM are like 12 years old. All you need is an old version of iTunes to strip the protection from all of your iTunes Digital Copy media library. One of your many incorrect assumptions. Any pirate releases enabled bu AnyDVD that wouldn't exist otherwise would be a tiny, almost immeasurable, fraction of total piracy.

LOL! You can't do that without something like AnyDVD!

Even for DVD! The overwhelming majority of DVDs don't let you copy disc-to-disc without circumventing copy protection. (many other products can remove DVD encryption, not just AnyDVD)

That's false. Those people have created a pattern of not buying and continue that. Barring piracy they would purchase as they are still consumers of the content.

Not when they're broke, thieves at heart, or are the type that rarely re-watch anything.

I don't know what sneaker net is.

As for your questions I must of missed them. As you can see I am being dog piled by like 10 people because I have views that don't allow for thieves to take my work.

You are a thief.

You don't know anything about me, but I do know you're a piece of shit that thinks you're entitled to be paid for a job you did for the next 150 years.

I mean this in the most unfriendly way possible(to avoid confusion since you have such a poor grasp of language and logic) Go fuck yourself.

I'm gonna be able to work for 150 years? Cool.

Not with out means to circumvent DRM.

Edit: Plus, who wants to back it up on expensive media that the industry has lobbied to tax to help fight piracy. Though i'm not sure they have done that with Blu-ray blanks yet. Hard drives are cheaper, faster, and more convenient. So are open source players over the very few licensed Blu-ray players for the PC. None for Mac last i looked a couple of years ago.

Because you're calling the legit users that spend thousands of dollars on digital media "thieves."

Am I? I see a lot of posturing in this thread. Amazing how much wink wink I see on these forums and then u get a thread like this and all of a sudden everyone is completely on the up and up and never ever do they ever pirate anything (but they know everything about pirating)
