They probably have some units in the US already. Could just sell exclusively on nintendo.com or something until they run out (which would be quick I bet)

Then raise the price or send the supply to other countries instead. Or both?

Nintendo confirms no hall effect sticks, so we get the same crap drifting sticks, same planned obsolescence so we can keep having to buy controllers. What a scam, we had hall effect sticks on the damn Dreamcast.

I'll admit I'm not a big Nintendo fan, especially after the Wii U and the streamer copyright/ad revenue sharing dramas years ago but these new prices and limitations are crazy. I could see people eating the $450 price but the game prices and the drm scheme for some key cards just aren't gonna fly with most Nintendo fans.

Claim that the BOM for the Switch 2 is $400. So yeah, once you include distribution and the other costs, Nintendo's margin is probably not very much at $450.

Nintendo is willing to eat a loss in Japan but not sure if they will do it anywhere else, esp given the tariff threat.

I suspect you are correct. I remember someone stating that the Joy-Cons use magnets to make their connection, which would cause lots of problems with hall-effect sensors.
