Is there no drop-down url? I need to get used to this.

Also, google toolbar doesn't come with it? I might have to reinstall the toolbar...can't live without it.

I like it. If it gets an adblocker I might switch from FF3

Lot of users will NOT be comfortable with this.

I'm no legal expert. Are they saying any information that goes through the browser is now theirs to do with as they please? Wouldn't that be illegal?

Thats like saying, anything that comes through my modem is now legally mine to use. Kthx.

They're both based on WebKit but Chrome sure as hell doesn't touch Safari's font rendering. In fact no browser can. But since Safari for Windows has virtually zero plug-ins, I'm stuck to using IE and FF for different tasks.

My own website appears absolutely fine in FF and IE.

Everything is all smashed together in Chrome - it's like it doesn't care about table or cell widths.

It was enough of a pain accounting for the differences between FF and IE when putting together a website. For no other reason than that I don't feel like accounting for a third set of browser quirks, I wish this would just go away.

It's not multi-monitor aware. Options, etc. dialogs keep opening on the wrong monitor, even after moving.

It has no file, edit, etc. menu. Which forces an "other bookmarks" to be on the bookmark bar, meaning it can't display all of the ones that I want without having to click an arrow to get to the other pages. DO NOT WANT! I want a bookmarks menu at the top because all of the stuff in there I don't go to that often.

It is fast, but I hate the interface and how it's laid out.

I'm sticking with Firefox.

I don't understand why so many people shit themselves in excitement over Google. What's so good about them? Yeah, their web search engine is good. Google Earth is pretty useful, but that's it. Most of their other programs are crap. I'm posting this from their new browser...it's okay but nothing special. Nothing that makes me want to switch from Firefox.

Is Google the new Apple? Hip and trendy?

Most beta programs for browsers etc have all that legalese in them. From what I can tell it is totally unenforceable and will never be applied in real life. It is just to protect them from stupid lawsuits etc. That said if they did ever try to apply it the internet backlash would mean the end of the google. The extra monitoring and data gathering of the browser is something to worry about though.

serios question?

google maps shat on everyone before Live and Yahoo followed suit
then they put satellite images on
then they put streetview on (i can see the landscape before i drive there)
then they put traffic monitoring in
now i can see what public transport to take from point to point

gmail has free forwarding, free pop3, free everything
full access through mobile devices
tagging destroys folders
i can follow shipping tracking automatically from emails
dates and events are linked to google calendar
calendar is linked to outlook, which gives me full synchronization across all work spaces (public computer, mobile devices, home, etc)

etc etc etc

Because I think that their search engine has been the best for a long time.
Because I think that their customizable home page is better then anyone other (except for writing my own).
Because Google Maps destroys other map sites.
Because Google Calender is highly useful for my wife and I.
Because I've really enjoyed Gmail and the spam filter that it offers.
Because Google Reader was the best RSS reader that I found.
Because News gives me a good aggregate daily news feed.
Because Youtube is getting pretty useful and will continue to grow.

In every single thing that I mentioned Google did not have the first product that I used, but I gradually found that they had the one that I liked the best. So I really don't give a shit what you think about Chrome. I'll test it out, and know that eventually it has a very good shot at becoming my favorite browser.

Which programs are crap? Where do I start....

Google Desktop - bloated rubbish that does not help organize anything
Google Picasa - Don't like the UI. Slow. Bloated.
Web Accelerator - Just a giant adware fest. Didn't they even change proxy settings on your browser without asking, so they can cache all your web usage?
Google Talk - Lack of privacy controls. Slow.

Also - no status bar at the bottom.

The window doesn't stay where I put it. It stays on the right monitor, but the position is way off to the right from where I close it.
