Given the apparently limited functionality it seems more like a far less expensive (and still more useful!) Nexus Q.
Still I don't really see the point. It's nice that it's so cheap but my TV already has Netflix, YouTube, and a DLNA client built into it, and I also have a WD TV that does all the same stuff. I suppose if I didn't have any of that functionality built into my TV it might be nice.
Can I get a better understanding of how this works? So the playback is on this device right? That means it has a decent SoC to handle 1080p correct?
Anyone have any idea whether it will require a new netflix account?
I'm not sure if I have much use for this, but for the price, maybe. It would be easier than connecting my phone via MHL to my non-smart TV. Other than that?

If i understand correctly, this will only stream from the cloud? So local content will not stream from my computer or tablet. AKA from vlc?
works with exsisting
1 promo per netflix account, works with new or existing accounts.
Nope, you can apply the 3 month credit to an existing Netflix account.
This is the exact moment I determined I will be getting this.
not at first, but there's an SDK which apps will hopefully support. i hope it will be possible to play local content.
source? i just didnt see anything like that, but i want to believe!
