Without a doubt you'll start to see ads for AT&T GigaPower service soon. It only runs at 300mbps though.

IIRC you can pay $25 mo for a year and then it is free for 7 years.

The speed is only 5 mb tho.

This is speculation, but my guess would be that they are going to take over or incorporate the existing attempt at a fiber network for the salt lake valley that seems to be currently stalled. Comcast fought pretty hard and seems to have gotten the help of some local law makers. There are 3 suburbs of salt lake city that have it currently, but the coverage map is pretty weird. If i had to guess i would say google is probably a few years from having anything solid going here.

Newnan is 11 minutes from the the Perimeter. IOW, College Park and Atlanta-proper is only minutes away. I can move a few miles, genius. I spent three years in San Deigo so it's not like I'm married to this place. Anyone in Newnan facing a lease renewal now has this to consider so, yes, it is going to affect us Newnan. Almost everyone I work with in Newnan commutes from one of those places or even farther away.

And don't bother with the "That's not Atlanta!" BS. We all know that the "perimeter" includes College Park, Decatur, etc inside and they are all collectively "Atlanta" unless you want to call Atlanta Airport the "College Park Airport."
