I'm playing around with Google Now. It's very cool and yet little scary what Google can do with your info. I like how you can get Google Now to come up in any screen, even on the lockscreen by simply swiping up on home icon area. Very WebOS like. There's so much potential with Google Now.

i've been using latitude for a couple years, and actually found an incredibly useful use for it the other day. It keeps a location history of all your movements, and you can go and browse your movements on any day. So, I saw a credit card charge I didn't recognize, so I fired up latitude history, went to that day, and tracked my movements. turns out that two restaurants side by side have the same owner, so my statement read "Spoon" even though I went to "Brgr"

pretty awesome. google can track me all they want.

Yup. I've seen the value in being able to prove when I was in a particular place, so I also leave it enabled. I do have to delete a lot of bad readings, though.

Jelly bean is a nice improvement to ICS. I have been using since yesterday & once they fixed the wifi issue, it has been a fast & stable experience. The new transitions are slick, the new camera is fast, & I love the new notification window.

Discovered one tiny complaint about the notifications. They talked about how you can now call someone back directly when there is a missed call. You just open the notification and there's a "call back" button.

Unfortunately, that functionality disappears completely as soon as you get a second missed call, even if it's from the same number. My wife called me twice in a row yesterday and I didn't hear my phone so I didn't answer either time. Checked my notifications and saw two missed calls. Tried the two finger swipe down gesture, did nothing. No call back button.

Not sure if it works if you get missed calls from two different numbers.

Same here. Maybe it'll get fixed or tweaked by the time something official comes out.

Had a chance to try out the RC1 release of Jelly Bean on my Sprint Galaxy Nexus last night. I thought ICS was a massive step forward but JB is is indeed noticeably smoother than ICS. :O I need an official ROM NOW! For me, it was too early to declare this suitable as a daily driver since there were only a handful of posts about it at the time I flashed it and the last thing I wanted was to have my phone crap out in the middle of a work day.

Love the developer communities and their ability to get stuff done and working so quickly, even for the less popular CDMA variants of the Galaxy Nexus.

On my PC, in Chrome, I google for the website of a local independent theater to buy tickets for a movie later this weekend. I look at my phone a little later and see a notification for Google Now: traffic information from my location to the movie theater I just googled for.

Damn that's awesome. I can't wait until I get it on my Nexus S.

To be honest, I find it a little disturbing.

Just imagine if your GF had borrowed your phone to make a phone call, while you were googling your destination, and while on the phone she saw the notification about the traffic information from your current location to the strip bar you and your buds were heading to later.

That's when you opt out. It seems that iPhone and WP8 will be the smartphones of cheaters. Hey baby, I don't cheat, I have Android.

Or imagine if she picked up your phone and looked at the call log to find a number to a strip club in it! Or found porn sites on your browser history! *gasp*

I'm driving home right now and Google Now is giving me directions, estimated trip time, and traffic report. Very cool. I don't even need weather widget with forecast anymore since Google Now will always give me the current weather and forecast.
