Galaxy Nexus tablet has quad-core but no expandable storage???
EPIC FAIL!
Not even a micro-SD card slot??? WTF were they thinking? They just shot themselves in the foot!
8 GB (which needs to accomodate an operating system and apps) is cramped.
16 GB is already expensive.
Epic fail.
HOLY SHIT
$300 for a nexus q!?
I was expecting apple TV prices!
Needs to be $200 at the most, preferably $100.
Once the community gets their hands on it (the guy even encouraged hacking) I'm sure we'll see some awesome stuff. Right now it's just way too limited (like Apple TV).
Maybe not in a big way, but on a personal level, one reason I'm looking at Android tablets is because some of them have external media support. I won't be buying another iPad any time soon.No expandable storage hasn't affected iPad sales yet.
$299 for the Nexus Q? really? LOL it's like a slightly fancier Roku XS, but those are like $80. I'm really trying to understand the price point for this device. Also love the lack of backlash at the tablet not having an SD slot and how expensive the 8 -> 16 gig upgrade is. Damn Google really can do no wrong in the eyes on their phans.
Cloud Storage
F*** cloud storage!
WiFi only? More money for data transfers?
Stop thinking in U.S-centric terms, not everyone in the world has good Internet access, and there are bandwidth caps in many places, which make transfers a losing proposition.
With 8 GB of internal storage you can't even carry a couple of HD movies!
This is 2012, for crying out loud, my first-gen Galaxy Tab may not be as fast, but as sure as hell is much more versatile!
Apparently the Nexus Q is actually manufactured in the USA which could explain the higher cost vs the Foxconn made Apple TV.
we get it, the nexus 7 is not for you, keep your galaxy tab.
Oh, I get it, too: you're one of the people who thought DIVX by Circuit City was a great idea. And you don't own any books or DVDs, you rely only on Amazon, Netflix and Hulu, right?
Cloud storage doesn't work very well on a plane.
Considering that HD H.264 files are commonly 4-8 GB or more, that means you get to put all of 1-2 movies on the tablet before filling up your 16 GB (since say 6 GB will already be used anyway). That's why you temporarily make a vid or two available offline. You don't need 16GB of video on a flight...

Unless you enjoy re-encoding your movies every time you want to go somewhere. Been there, done that, with my iPad, and it's a royal PITA.

Well, I did say elsewhere else (not sure if it was this thread or another one) that I'd pay $299 for a 64 GB model... and would even consider a 32 GB model. These are the workarounds you pay when you buy a device for $199 or $249.
