Sadly, the OP3 is too large for me. I'd get one if it was 5". I don't think that my pricing ideas are so unreasonable, you can get a 32GB international S7 for 550$ on Amazon. The HTC 10 is 585$. 500$/600$ would've been decent. 650$ for the 32GB is significantly more than the 550$ S7.Yup this is exactly what apple does. Not sure what prompted them to do this. I remember paying nearly $600 for my 64gb 6p last year and I was fine with that.
Most people that want the same specs but don't care about Google updates can get the one plus 3.
Total for my 6p was $592 with tax included for a 64gb model.The nexus 6P was $499.

Agreed, they should have come in at at least $100 cheaper. Sort of feeling gouged @ the pricing tiers.
Plus no TMobile wifi calling....
How so? Nexus 5 was priced at $350 3 years ago, and improvements in Pixel are just natural Moore's law progression from there. There are a lot of great sub $400 phablets out, so $400 5" phone is par for the course. But Google also makes money off your data, so they should be able to come in lower than phone makers, at $350.$350?!? Come on, that's just ridiculous.
I blame HTC for the price hike more than anything. The 6p was less expensive because Huawei was not a very big company and they have recently been picking up. Anything HTC that has come out has always had higher prices. How so? Nexus 5 was priced at $350 3 years ago, and improvements in Pixel are just natural Moore's law progression from there. Their price is a delusional exercise in wishful thinking. Google is not Apple, and it's not even Samsung.

350$ is way too low. Seriously, the Pixel is a high-end phone. Even the OP3 is 400$, and the Axon 7 is 480$ on Amazon. The Pixel has a much better camera than both, probably a better screen, a slightly better processor, better updates, probably better repair service etc. I don't see how they could've priced it lower than 400$.How so? That's stupid. Seriously. Google was intending to match Apple's prices with the Pixel, that's why the name changed from Nexus.I blame HTC for the price hike more than anything. Agreed. Andromeda is the product I was actually excited about. Everything announced, including the phone seems kinda meh to me.Damn, thought they were going to talk about Andromeda.
Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, so since I am not sure I double check and went to the anandtech review (aka I had to look it up)
MSRP for Nexus 6P, 32gb $499, 64gb $549, 128gb for $649
Google Pixel 5" is 32gb $649, 128gb $749
Google Pixel 5.5" 32gb $769, 128gb $869
I don't know why they would go and try to match apple just yet. That camera better be improved then because nexus cameras never have been like Samsung's or apples. I bet if they had let Huawei make it, prices would have been similar to last year. I think to say HTC had nothing to do with the price is a little off too. That's stupid. Seriously. The Htc 10 was $599 unlocked from day one if you bought it direct from Htc. What indication do you have that Htc prices higher than any of its competitors?

Total fail, IMO. Should be $350, and will be on sale for that price once it flops.
All nexus devices had at least 2 years of updates before. Not like Apple doesn't do the same thing in a while. I've had many people with Apple products that are close to 2 years old complain when they go to the latest os as their device is now slow. The hubris is big here. The pixel, despite coming out after the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7, seems to have fewer features. The value adds appear to be tied to advances in the android system, which will probably be given to all the other flagships phones as well...just a month later. Avoiding a month's wait is not a compelling reason to drop $700. And that's only if you're really into Google's services.
Pros:
- There's a smaller 5" device, if you like small.
- Snapdragon 821. It's a little better than the 820. Might be a good jump in GPU grunt since you're only rendering for 1080p (if you're looking at the smaller phone).
- Unlimited cloud storage. This is pretty cool, but doesn't remove the need for or surpass the advantages of local storage.
Cons:
- No expandable local storage.
- 32GB base model, or ultra expensive 128GB. No mid tier upgrade.
- Not waterproof/Dustproof.
- No wireless charging.
- Expensive as a new iPhone or S7.
- A "me too!" design ::coughiphonecough::
I also saw this from google's own website:
2 years of OS updates
So wait, does that mean we're only getting updates to the OS for two years? And then screw us? Isn't that about how long most phone makers support their phones? So I guess that nullifies the "nexus" advantage. Also, this:

I know people here will probably disagree with me but in my personal experience everyone I hang out with likes the pictures from my 6P far better than their iphones or galaxy phones. There's a mix of 6s's and s6's in there, whenever we're all taking photos of the same things they end up liking mine better, the HDR+ really does take great shots and it helps a ton in a lot of situations where getting a good picture can be difficult. Only problem I've had is that HDR shots take long to process so it can be difficult to take a lot of fast shots, however, I find I have to take less shots to get a good one so it balances out for me. I just keep snapping and let it process in the background. I wish Huawei had done it again as well as the price doesn't really seem to be justified here, but if the camera is really as fast as they're claiming it'll be a welcome upgrade for me.I don't know why they would go and try to match apple just yet. Your memory was fine. Mine was crap like normal.
What does premium stuff entail ? To you it may be something completely different than another user. For Apple it could be their design, easy iOS integration. So where's the premium stuff that Samsung and Apple have? Why on earth does google think they can charge the same as the flagships without the features that make them flagships.
