Play Store credit won't work on hardware, just apps. At least that's how it's always been.

Google's implementation of store credit is pretty idiotic, BTW, because it does not allow you to pay for part of your purchase with store credit. Unless what you want can be covered fully by store credit, you can't use it. Found this out the hard way when I was trying to use up the credits I got from the Nexus 7 promo before they expired.

It's one thing to pirate ~$60 software (though still wrong), but ~$0.99 apps? That's quite pathetic.

I agree with that. Cheap apps are a gateway drug, I have bought more of those in the lat year than 360 games $-wise.

But when I see apps like this:

Piracy becomes a tempting option again (which I don't follow through with Mr. Friendly Neighborhood Mod).

I think it was folks on Reddit who noted that, at least anecdotally, only politically left people had been approved.

You can't use the credit from this app. It's added on to your Play Store credit, so using it from either play store app or play store website will work. I still have some ~$8 credit before this from the HTC promo, and now I have ~$10.
