IMO Merry Christmas is the new politically correct term for the holidays. You offend more people saying Happy Holidays (far more) than saying Merry Christmas these days.

You say "Happy Holidays" only applies if there are actually other holidays on the day the phrase is used. Why do you not apply the same standard to "Merry Christmas"?

So saying Happy Holidays over a time span that includes Xmas is destroying Xmas, but saying Merry Christmas over a time span that it isn't Xmas but it IS other holidays is correct?
