i wonder if this is in advance of the rumor google/asus tablet which they will hopefully also sell direct.

Because Verizon rips it's customer off? It's pure LOL funny that someone would pay Verizon $300 + $38 activation fee + a 2 year contract vs spending $100 or so more and going prepaid.... such a scam the cellular companies have going.
