However, I had two concerns about it, so I uninstalled it after using it for a couple of days.
First off, it seems to work pretty good, and I had no issues browsing various sites. The bad: When first installing it, it asked what I wanted to import from my other browser. I specifically unchecked saved passwords, but it did so anyways. After seeing that, I wanted to see who owned it, and it appears it was purchased by a group of Chinese investors in 2016. So after those two things, I uninstalled it.
Tends to happen when the dominant search engine spams it every time a search is made, and sabotages other browsers on popular services like youtube. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. I should switch to chrome like the other people that do what they're told.You didn't know Chrome now has a crushingly huge market share?
Try using https://brave.com/. it's basically chrome(chromium based) with scripts and ads blocked by default, no extensions needed. That being said the browser may collapse at some point as their business model may fail, but in the meantime it's pretty sweet.

Not that I don't know I'm more amazed at it, I don't get why. Firefox has been around for way longer and is not owned by a spy company. Seems like a no brainer to use Firefox.
Downloaded & will give a try ... btw although I found the built in script blocking it was disabled by default in settings.
I don't have an issue with seeing legit ads.
My issue is the shady advertising companies some websites partner with (** COUGH - sounds familiar for some reason - COUGH **) that hijack your browser. For example, I quit reading USA Today because most of the time I have to disable my adblocker to see the article. A few weeks back they had an article on Ohio State football, so I disabled my adblocker to read it.
And guess what happened? I got a redirect from one their crappy ad partners that said my files were locked and to call a phone number to get them unlocked. I couldn't even close the browser the normal way, I had to CTRL-ALT-DEL to kill Chrome altogether to get rid of it.
If they find a way to get rid of that crap, I'll stop blocking all their ads.
My problem with pi-hole is that every stupid person will google something, and then click the first/second link - which is obviously a sponsored link.Better break out the raspberry pi and get pihole running

Google is an advertising firm. They make their money by selling us advertisements. Why in the hell would they want a program that blocks their customers ads from reaching us?

Well, I'm no expert - but just a hunch....
Google Chrome is a web browser. I'm fairly sure they collect all kinds of usage data and other shit that we aren't fully aware of - REGARDLESS of our adblock addons.
Someone like myself - only uses Chrome specifically for addons like ublock. If they get rid of it - I will cease to use Chrome. Period.
