I have the toolbar installed and I use it every once in a while. What I did was I bookmarked the text box on Google and hotkeyed it 'g'. Whenever I need to search all I type is CTRL + L and then g search string. It's awesome.

I've been using the A9 tool bar, but I like the google bar's highlight feature better, where the terms appear on the bar itself, and not in a drop-down menu.

Yes there have, but not ones made by Google. This is the official one I guess. The googlebar extension(s) for Firefox are unofficial.

Interesting. When people started switching to Firefox, many missed the Google toolbar. Now it's out, and no one wants it.
I guess Google just took too long to do it - Firefox has a lot of the things. Google search integrated, Autofill extension...that's all I really used with the IE Google toolbar.

Still, nice that they've acknowledged that Firefox is becoming a popular browser.

I set google as my home page so I've developed a habit of doing [ctrl-t, alt-home] for rapid firefox googling.
