I remember being amazed at Google Street View when it first came out, now i see they are branching out to hiking trails as well.

Some of the locations going digital on Vancouver Island potentially include the West Coast Trail and hiking trails on the North Coast.
They’ll also trek around rugged and remote landscapes like Haida Gwaii, Mount Edziza and the Tumbler Ridge Global Geopark.
The 40-pound Google Trekker backpacks are loaded with about 15 cameras that take high-resolution pictures every two to three seconds.

Great way to promote tourism in that area, as if NW territories needed it. I hope it continues to branch out past CA and into the US, but I really doubt it. I know Michigan actually has more miles in offroad trails than it does interstate highway miles.

There's quite a few walks in the USA but i'm having a difficult time finding a good list of them like the Parks Canada one...

I don't. Almost certainly the major trails for the major National Parks will get the treatment. I'd expect the entire Appalachian Trail probably as well. Probably some of the Colorado Trail and 4 pass loop at least. As far as Michigan goes, I'd guess the larger attractions like Sleeping Bear Dunes and some of the lakeshore trails would be covered.
