I thought this was a hot deal, but shipping might ruin it.

Price: $19.99 : $34.75 Shipped

From the website -

"Our Googlegear USB Flatbed scanner has an optical resolution of 600 x 1200 DPI, it's super slim (1.7 inches), lightweight, and its image quality is fantastic. Plus, it doesn't need an external power supply like most scanners still do; it connects right to your computer's USB port. That means you can take this scanner anywhere you take your laptop. Just slide it into your laptop backpack along with your laptop, and take it to the park, the coffee shop, or on the airplane. Scanners with similar features sell for around $99 at other computer stores--look into it. "

I need a decent scanner and I do not wish to pay much over 70 dollars for one. If there was more feedback on the quality of this, I might become motivated to purchase it.

I had huge problems ordering from these guys, they shipped to wrong address which was my parents house and I clearly stated it was going to mine (CC number billing was at their house) I even called on phone. Ended up costing me quite some shipping money for their error and they wouldn't pay for it

The advantage of buying a scanner from a major manufacturer is better driver support. If you'll be wanting to use your scanner with future operating systems, you're more likely to see driver updates from major manufacturers.

These guys are ok IMHO. They shipped the wrong CPU to me once and they RMA'd it right away. Not much problem returning stuff to them. Anyway, I guess they shouldn't make the mistake in the first place.

Not a deal for me, seems that it may not be supported under Windows XP. Some scanners and printers have been major headaches with XP.

System Requirements Windows 95, 98 or 2000
Power Mac G3 & UP or MAC with USB connection
20MB Hard Disk space
High color or True color display card
CD-ROM drive
