I didn't say that.

So when eski said it would be millions and you told him that it's a "pure guess" you weren't implying that the CBO could be off by about 95% and that you believe the amount of people losing insurance could be less than a million? Because if that's not what you are saying then it is with a very high degree of confidence that millions of people will indeed suffer if the senate or house bill is passed.

Also, because you like to be pedant, I didn't say you said that, I asked if that was what you believed.

If reasoning worked on degenerates they would've been fixed by the 12+ years it was taught in school.

Trump now arguing for repeal now and replace later. Guess things are going well on the Senate vote whip.

You couldn't do a seperate replacement through reconciliation so you'd need 60 votes. I'm sure the Democrats would enjoy watching the GOP and Trump set sail on the veritable Titanic of bad political decisions.

Plus I'm sure the insurance and medical providers will react positively to months of uncertainty

If they repeal now with out a replacement there will not be a replacement before the next open season. That happens and the entire market could collapse. Come to think of it this might be the best way to get single payer implemented.

I was implying that I don't put much faith in the CBO Scores.

Oh I'm quite sure that millions of people are going to suffer if either bill is passed, or no bill is passed, or they leave the ACA in place.

I have no idea how many will or will not lose insurance. That is my point. Neither do you, eski, or the CBO. It is all smoke mirrors and guess work. Too many variables over a ten year period.

Good, then we are all in agreement, if the Republican bills pass, millions will suffer.

And millions are going to suffer regardless of which bill is passed or even if we leave the ACA in place.

Yes.

And you call me pedant.

The point is that millions of ADDITIONAL people will suffer and I think you know that.

None of us KNOW what is going to happen over the next ten years. It is all estimation and guess work.

Well we don't KNOW that any of us will live to see tomorrow either. Millions of additional people suffering is the overwhelmingly likely outcome and you know it.

That's weak.

No, it's a fact. The CBO may be correct, but then again they have been far off the mark before.

If they just leave the ACA in place how many more will suffer? Millions? Tens of millions?

Or will you admit that you just do not know?

Possibly.

I'll ask you the same question.

If they just leave the ACA in place how many more will suffer? Millions? Tens of millions? Or will it be millions less than it is today?

Or will you admit that you just do not know?

If the CBO was just that wrong, Con's would've been more public about the BCRA.

Removing healthcare for millions of American's will have consequences.

Your attempt to fudge it like the CBO is just fortune tellers looking at a crystal ball is foolish.

American's disagree with you, bigly.

When you say "Leave the ACA in place", are you saying let it fail, or try to fix it?

I haven't seen anyone say to leave it alone, it's perfect.

Has the CBO conducted a review of the current ACA and made any estimates of new or continued suffering by leaving it alone?

Is it failing? I think it is and will also cause misery to millions more Americans. It was doomed to fail when it was passed and the Administration knew it. This was in evidence when Gruber opened his mouth about the whole con game used to pass it. As some have said (fskimospy) in here that it is not failing.

No, just leave the ACA as it is without the Republicans messing with it at all.

Nothing is perfect.

You are correct it is more than looking at a crystal ball in the short term. Short term predictions can be very accurate. However shooting out to the ten year mark it gets very near crystal ball gazing.

I just did a quick edit on that to add text.

I think it needs to be improved upon, as nothing is perfect. I value the health of my fellow American's more than partisan hackery.

Intentionally let it "fail" via indifference, spite, etc... == partisan hackery.

Repealing it without a plan to replace == partisan hackery.

Something needs to be done. IMO, leaving the ACA alone is foolish, and replacing it with something that doesn't even address the problems with the ACA is foolhardy.

The ACA is doomed to fail if nothing is done. ( Some disagree ) I do not like either bill that has been presented by either house so far. They all are terrible, even the ACA which was never viable long term IMO.

I agree with you ( points bolded above ). I think all of those idiots in DC needs to be horse whipped for refusing to work with one another. I am talking about BOTH Parties.

At a minimum they should work towards making the ACA work, but I fear that the Democrats will not allow any meaningful changes.

When the Con's are ready to work towards changing the ACA, then we can speculate what changes are.

Until then, Con's are forcing this repeal and replace thing because that's what was promised.

Unfortunately, Trump doesn't seem legit about the promises he made to America.

I agree with you. They do need to fix the Healthcare Cost first before anything is going to work well.
