A view into the current Repub. health "care" bill:
Not that I know of but I'm sure that they will be here to cheer it when it passes.
There is an article on CNN that basically states that this will open up 50 new healthcare debates (each state) and that's something that I alluded to in an earlier post - 50 different healthcare plans - especially Medicaid paid versions.
Oh, and it pisses me off to no end that Alaska and Hawaii are being offered premium support to help people buy insurance. Outright pure bribery by the GOP. The fact that they threw Hawaii in there has no bearing on the fact that it's simply a bribe to get the Alaska senator to a yes vote.
Think about just how fucked up that is. They are trying to get Murkowski to repeal the ACA by basically exempting her state from the repeal. ie: the only way they think they can get someone to get rid of this 'horrible' law is if they get to keep the horrible law. That's about the most cynical reason I've ever heard for a piece of legislation. Absolutely shameful.
I really hope this passes. This is the healthcare system americans deserve for voting trump into office. Our country needs to go to shit and everyone needs to suffer a lot so we all remember what happens when we vote for republicans.
It remains to be seen if Murkowski will be swayed by this approach. She openly rebuffed a previous payoff attempt on the basis that it was bad for the country and would, eventually, be bad for Alaska too.
She owes the GOP leadership nothing, isn't up until 2022, received considerable local acclaim for rejecting the last proposal, the bill still has stuff she doesn't like (defunding PP), and to give in now would require a near total reversal of her stated positions. I don't think it's impossible she would flip it just doesn't look super likely.
Some of them will have buyers once reality bitch slaps them around a little bit. I'm stunned by most of them and their unwillingness to accept the facts that are before them. Blaming Hillary, Obama along with anything but the actual cause is their MO and it really frustrates me.I'm curious how the Rs from the red states that expanded Medicaid or had lots of people sign up for insurance who are getting f'd by this plan will take AK getting a get out of jail free card.
Also the conservatives could be a problem...
I agree that if I had to bet I would say this would be insufficient but the fact that they are even offering it is absolutely disgusting. It makes it absolutely clear that they know the bill is bad because they are exempting people from it in order to get them to vote to screw everyone else over.
Kind of hard to remember all the way back in the summer that none other than Lindsay Graham was decrying precisely this kind of bribery and that engaging in it would loose his vote. LOL.

According to reports ostensibly from GOP staffers Graham doesn’t even understand what the bill does.
This bill is what all these people deserve. I hope they get it.
No one deserves to be sick and unable to get treatment. I posted those to illustrate how broken our society is. These people are the product of a culture that celebrates selfishness, greed, and materialism. A culture that blames people for their circumstances and seeks to punish them rather than help them.
It is up to the progressives to say no more to this status quo of misery and human suffering. We can offer a better deal, a new deal.
Sadly enough I believe that this steaming pile of bullsh!t will actually pass this time.Given the silence of Murkowski, Collins and McCain so far on this, I'm concerned that at least one of them will succumb to the pressure and they'll end up getting it passed. While it may hurt the GOP more politically to pass it than to not pass it, I'd rather not see millions of people lose their health insurance, so I'm hoping it doesn't pass but I've got a bad feeling about it this time.

Allegedly the Bill also bans States from attempting to make their own Single Payer systems. So don't worry guys, this new HC plan has to be awesome!

Single payer will NEVER happen until thousands and thousand of americans have died as a result of the "free market" healthcare system. Right now people think things are expensive... but they still have healthcare. They aren't dead. When they die, they'll learn.
Give them the system they desire. Let them learn the truth about the "free market": it cares for nobodies health. The market does not care if you die.
