A valid criticism, to be sure, but when you make it in a thread that's not about Democrats it just screams "Deflect!"

Repubs fail to pass something that the Repubs came up with - obviously it's the Democrats fault!

Everything is the Democrats' fault. /sarcasm

Reminds me of the old agage: "Success has a thousand fathers, but failure is an orphan." ..which was really "victory" instead of success and "defeat" instead of failure, but the gist is the same.

So bitter, so hostile. Would it kill people to be respectful and polite? You all sound like a bunch of sore losers. Was it that you didn't win the house that has you so rankled? You do realize that it's pretty rare for one party to be in complete control right? Obama did win the election, so why all the vitriol? Are you angry you won? Angry that you didn't win everything? Do you think you are entitled to more?

Abstract cuts are always impossible to agree on. No matter what you cut, it will impact some districts more than others. No one wants to be in an affected area. Everyone wants it to affect the other guys area. I agree that this is an important event. It will either bring the republicans together and force them to work out their differences, or show a clear break in the party.

Most haven't heard of the Ryan budget? Most average Americans, perhaps, but not most politicians/pundits/P&N regular posters.

Don't act stupid, we all know they weren't voting on the Ryan budget.

Unbefuckinglievable!

You bold face ripped off the Dems complaint that they've been using for past 5 years.

Sorry you failed again. The house and senate work on it concurrently in budget committees of their respective legislatures.
-snip-

Jeebus, you're new to politics.

You've apparently never seen a budget actually passed and are going on boilerplate. Not surprising given Obama's track record on budgets. They've been 'hypothetical' since his election.

Seriously?

Are you allergic to facts or do you spend too much time Dailykos etc.

The House has repealed Obamacare a number of times:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...03e0330-ed95-11e2-9008-61e94a7ea20d_blog.html

So yeah, they (meaning the House and Boehner) have repealed legislation.

Fern

Are you making up new definitions for 'repeal' here or are you spending too much time watching Fox News? Is the law still on the books? Yes? Then they have repealed nothing. It takes a lot of balls to point to the House failing to repeal laws, calling that a repeal, and then calling someone else allergic to facts though... so I have to give you that one.

Oh and for budgets he's also right. While budget resolutions as a whole are meaningless, the process for passing budgets is that each chamber makes their own and then they reconcile them in committee. In case you were wondering, by the way, when the Senate passed that budget the Republicans hounded them about for so long do you know what happened? The Republicans refused to go to committee on it. They were never serious to begin with, but foolish people eat it up all the time.

Maybe you're just new to politics.

Oops! Looks like someone woke up on the stupid side of the bed.

According to you obamacare has been repealed 40 times! How do you repeal a law more than once? I don't know but the republucans in the house must have super legislative powers because they have done just that!!

By your same logic, immigration reform has been passed! Yeah!!!

Oh and here this might help you understand the legislative process, it's in video form so you don't have to read it like the other link I provided that explained the budget process:

Repubs argue against themselves, so blame the democrats amirite?

What happened to taking responsibility for your own actions? If the Republicans fail to uphold something they agreed upon, how is that OMG Obama!'s fault? Quit acting butthurt and look in the mirror.

Bullshit.

Boehner said he'd repeal laws (at least according to the poster I was responding to) and he did. Boehner's not responsible for the senate. It's bullshit to try to say he didn't do what he said he would. He got it repealed in the House. That's all he can do, all can he claim responsibility for.

Show which laws are no longer in existence because Boehner repealed them.

And to be clear, they didn't just pass useless, symbolic "repeal Obamacare" acts that have 0% chance of every actually repealing anything "a number of times." They've gone through that pointless exercise forty times. I'm starting to think they don't like Obamacare!

Why, if they just set their minds to it and continue to ignore the country's needs, they could pass that same bill 3,000 more times before Obama leaves office! They'll be the most productive Congress ever!

No, clowns at least do their job.

Huh? They are doing their job. Monsanto is very happy with their performance. Go on down the list, they are all quite happy... And they are laughing.

According to Fern's definition of repeal, that would mean they repealed the same law forty times, yet somehow the law is still in existence! Looks like someone needs to go back to law school.

If I did I'd be looking at you.

According to you obamacare has been repealed 40 times!

I never said that. And you might want to look into that further. The "40" number is wrong.

While it (a number close to that) is repeated often, look it up. I think a repeal of Obamacare in its entirety has only been done once each year (i.e., 3 times). The others were repeal/amendment/correction (depending upon your POV) of a portion or specific provision.

How do you repeal a law more than once? I don't know but the republucans in the house must have super legislative powers because they have done just that!!

Yeah, the Senate can claim credit for passing immigration reform.

Your depiction of the budget process, particularly the recent ones, is far too simplistic. Actually, looking back at your post I don't see how it refutes Matt1970's post. Your remark strikes me as irrelevant.

NEWS FLASH: IT IS NOT A REPEAL IF THE LAW ISN'T PASSED. Voting for a repeal is not the same thing as repealing a law. Jesus Christ man get it straight!

Definition of repeal:

repeal 1) v. to annul an existing law, by passage of a repealing statute, or by public vote on a referendum.

In other words, if the statute doesn't pass, the law isn't repealed.
