They didn't mention weight of previous female drivers. Why, because it was clear that they didn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of winning. This gal on the other hand proved that these so called "jock drivers" don't have balls either.

I would honestly not have a problem with that at all. In fact that would shut every damn idiot in this thread up, including me.

Seems the merit of Robby Gordon's argument is clouded by your hate of him. I for one don't think he will win even if Patrick was 100lbs or 200lbs. The only thing I'm in this thread for is to say that IRL should consider driver weight with car. I don't care about Robby Gordon and what he does, he has always been loud mouth ever since his CART days with Walker Racing.

i didn't have to search too far,

I guess thats why Honda was suspended for 2 races for being just 11lbs light.

BAR was suspended for cheating. You are over simplifying the depths of their deception.

It's cheating because the FIA believes it gave them an advantage.

It's cheating because the FIA implements rules and BAR broke those rules. Do you hear Ferrari bitching because there are many more Michelin runners with 4 times the testing miles under their belt? That's an extremely unfair advantage. But hey, the rules are the rules.

The point is, that minimum weight = driver+car rule is there to prevent lighter drivers from getting an advantage which is what this whole freaking thread is about.

I don't hear Ferrari bitching but I hear everyone else bitching about Ferrari testing more than they are AND THERE ARE NO RULES regarding testing days, only the teams who have commited themselves to what used to be the GPWC is adhering to the 30 day test rule. Besides, Ferrari took on this exclusive relationship with Bridgestone, and they said they will take the good with the bad.

Ferrari and Bridgestone are limited by the number of cars they have for development purposes and the amount of money it costs to conduct testing. You aren't honestly going to argue that Ferrari can rack up the number of test miles their competitors have or that the tires aren't really giving McLaren or Renault an advantage over Ferrari are you?

well no, but fundamental factor of speed is weight, its why they control for it. they have lots of rules. the weight one is the one where they didn't envision the future of women drivers its only being consistent.

Where did I say that? I was neither for you or against you in this one, I was merely stating the fact that other teams were bitching about Ferrari's testing even though there are no rules against it, and Ferrari said they chose this kind of relationship with Bridgestone so they will take on this slump they're in without publicly pointing fingers even though it's pretty obvious they are being hampered by their tires.

No, it's not hate. It's his lack of talent and his excuses.

I remember those years when he was in CART. I followed that series when he was there being beaten by the likes of Jaques Villeneuve, Paul Tracy and Jimmy Vasser. Robby Gordon should not be the source of this controversy...honestly, he isn't qualified.

admittedly it is had to like a big big-mouth. . . and she is cute.

i agree also that it is an "advantage" to have less weight in racing. . . it is just not that significant or it would already be addressed by the IRL . . .
[and all the big guys would be on diets to save even 10 lbs]

. . . anyway, changing the rules to adjust for total weight would do no harm - except to close this topic.

I guess I figured it was implied by your post. Sorry, if I jumped erroneously to that conclusion.

I remember an article a last year or so that Honda had developed a new engine for their F1 cars. Many said it was the best engine in the field. It was different in that it produced 10more Hp and weighed 1kg less. Scary

Just for giggles I ran cartest on an Acura NSX-R. Gave it 800hp and 800lb-ft. Ran 1 test at 2000lbs and 1 and 1900lbs. Results
1/4 mile 9.4s @ 160mph vs 9.3s @162mph
5-100mph 5.0s vs 4.9s
Skidpad. equal at .93G
Slalom. 62.4mph vs 62.5mph

If anyone wants to give me specs on an indy car, i'll plug those in

won't work for an oval track over 500 miles where you are also braking and passing and following and a thousand other variables come into factor . . . [fuel consumption and diminishing weight of fuel, varying wind resistance, tire wear . . . etc., etc.]

or what program are you going to "plug those into"?

So I called him a moron? Did I call him anything?

Or are you referring to the fact that I asked you how old you were since you act very young? I'm not calling you names, I'm just stating that I prefer not to argue with teenagers on internet forums.

Be honest with me here: When you are 30, are you going to hang out with 16 year olds? Or will you find their behavior immature?

You obviously don't know much about the subject at hand, since you called her a "really skilled" driver. She's the second youngest driver on the course, and she's very inexperienced as far as this kind of racing goes. She's not exactly Shirley Muldowney. The only thing that she currently has is her sex appeal. She's more of a Anna Kournikova than a Martina Navritilova.

You see, this is exactly what I'm talking about. When I have to deal with a 17 year old, I have to deal with a 17 year old's emotions, reasoning ability, reactions, etc. I don't have the time or patience to bring them up to an adults's level. I'm not calling you stupid- you act your age, like any normal kid is supposed to. But being more than 10 years older, I just don't want to deal with that.

Wow! You're 27, i'm SO impressed.

although you are completely wrong about me, i DO know 17 year olds that are FAR more logical than you - you are clearly UNable to carry on a logical debate withOUT attacking those who disagree with you. . . it wouldn't be so bad if you weren't so "full" of yourself.

Everything you just said is very typical of someone your age. It's quite funny from my perspective, seeing these kids act the same way I used to. At the time I thought I was being different, but when I look back I was just acting the same as everyone else my age. Just as you're doing now. I have the advantage of experience. I've already lived through this crap.

I'm not full of myself, you'll be in my shoes someday arguing with a kid that you just don't feel like bothering with. I'm not better than you, I'm just older. Been there, done that, don't feel like doing it again. People are born every day- I'm not going to bother with every 17 year old who just discovered that he's more enlightened than the rest of the world (like every other kid that age) and wants to argue with me.

I'm done with this thread. I'll leave it for the kiddies to play in.

BTW, I'm not 27.

as to "missing much" - not really . . . . i guess 91TTZ is probably still riding the Short Bus to school and pretending to be something he is not.

i managed to "debate" him (no challenge, nor "fun" as it is undoubtedly like beating up a handicapped person) while painting my house's covered patio [when i had to move the ladder, then come in an post, back to painting, etc.).

Wow, so I'm arguing with mentally retarded people. Great. A bunch of losers with no lives who role play on the internet. How cute.

The only thing worse than a 16 year old kid on the internet is a 35 year old guy on the internet who acts like a 16 year old kid. When you're not getting slapped around by your boyfriend/wife, you're pretending you're some big shot on the internet.

I only wish I could play football with you guys, I have a feeling your attitude towards me would change very quickly. (that's if you do that sort of thing. Probably too much of a limpwrist though)
