It's really sad that once a person runs for or becomes President, they have to pander to the special interests and debase their beliefs into disgusting easily-digested knuckle-dragging religious tool language.

There is no, none, zero, nada, zip and zilch, chance of us having a President like TR or FDR again, or any other "doers" that have sat in that seat. People like Gore are poorly understood and shackled by handlers and PACs. Whereas people like Bush are exalted because he feeds the morons the lines and knows little beyond that.

Now we elect a Ken doll President and are subjected by our masters.

Look what happened to Gore when he left that. He suddenly becomes articulate and smart (albiet somewhat alarmist IMHO with GW), not a cold fish like he was in 2000.

It's really unfortunate that real people can't become President anymore.

If he runs, I'll vote for him, but he said he won't and I believe him. Of course the GOP may piss him off enough...

Well that's a real good start, Al Gore would probably be happy.

But he has no right to fight for the planet, since he drives an SUV, right?
When did I take away his right to be a hypocrite for the planet? I just stated "no thanks" for president.

He can go off about the environment all he wants... but MANY people including myself have a hard time listening to and supporting hypocrites.
Well if you ever supported a candidate for president you supported a hypocrite, especially if you supported Bush.
I have not voted on a president so far, only local amendments.

Anyone I ever want never makes it past the primaries and since the non-zealots can't vote in those.....

Have you ever considered registering for a particular political party for the purpose of voting against specific candidates in the primaries?

But seriously, to you it matters not all of the tireless campaigning Al Gore has done in the name of the environment, because his car gets ****** gas mileage.

Yes I like when people set an example of what the hell they are talking about... and it must matter to others.. that is why he failed to be elected.

edit: and it's not just his car it's many of his lifestyle choices that make him a HYPOCRITE

Oh, that is a crappy cop-out, and you should know better.

That is like saying that a Doctor who smokes has no right to tell a patient that smoking is bad for your health.

The truth is the truth, no matter the source.

My doc is not an elected person in one of the most powerful positions on the planet. Gore can blow the smoke in the worlds face. My doc can only kill himself.

News Flash: neither is Al Gore, genius.

I'll take a TR, but not a president who tries to add seats to the supreme court, bully congress, and genreally be ineffective (IE FDR). If you think Bush is bad and a dictator, look back to the 30's.

This is said not to play king of the hill in the mud slinging game of bashing Demorats and Repugnantcans. heehehe. This is a fair game debate position i can abundantly support with facts if requested...

So that said,

The real inconvenient truth is that Al Gore was hired (Presidents, Vice Presidents and the Cabinet are all hired liarts) to be the side-kick for 8 years of Slick-Willy. Who, before GWB was hired for the job, was the most traitorous President in American history.

If you really are in love with one of these type politicians you have really been duped big time.

Make a change. Take a cruise. Get some fresh air. Look for somebody worthy of being our Nation's President. And work to make it possible to see them succeed and be elected by the people.

A choice in '08 between Clinton and Gore on the Democrat side is no choice at all. Here's why. It's all the same fruit taken out of the same rotten barrel.

That's for sure, imagine the quagmire we'd be in in Iraq, not to mention how much more dependent on oil we would be. Yuppers, dodged a bullet we did!

Yeah in his place we got ourselves an articulate and successful President in Bush.. no wait we didn't, we ended up with a total failure who, when he leaves office, will have left America worse off then when he entered the office. I doubt Gore could have done worse and I think he would have done much better than the stooge we have as President now.

Not at all. The billions have been spent. Perhaps you are just blind. A conspiracy is not the same as a visible and obvious fact.

Truth!!111!!oneone!!1

But, my problem with Gore has been that he pushes the same type of fear buttons, for much the same reasons, as the neocons in power do. Despite his intentions, he's really not much better.

That said, I don't think we'll ever have an FDR or TR in office again. Especially after the chimp. He's ruined the public trust for the office worse than Clin-ton's philandering ever could have.

The only thing this country has to be thankful for is the millions and millions of safe/terror-free keyboards that bravehearts are keeping warm, home in the States, thousands of miles away from Iraq.

Well done soldier

Gore would have done well. Maybe in another universe Gore is on his 2nd term. There is no war in Iraq... The towers never fell... And the Republicans still hate sex and gays.
