I don't like valium on wheels, but if you're looking for a reliable A<->B appliance, Accord is the way to go. No doubt you'll get 200K+ out of this one also.

The only downside I've seen is that older Hondas tend to rust quite a bit (not a problem for you in Cali). Around here they die from rust rather than drive train failure.

200k out of a modern car like that (particularly one with all the electronic bits like the OPs) is probably a bit optimistic. Sure, 200k was easily done by the hondas of old, but these days theres just too many electronics to go that long without a lot of them failing

For example, my moms 05 accord with 85k has already had to replace two window motors, the power seat motor, and a few other miscellaneous bits

Congrats on the new vehicle!

The new Accord is HUGE. I am not a huge fan of the sedan styling, but the coupe looks OK. The car's reliability should be very good, and you should enjoy it.

I haven't driven the new model, but I did spend some time with a 2005 sedan with the 4 banger/5 speed.

I thought it had plenty of giddyup for what it was, the motor was surprisingly torquey for a Honda and you could accelerate briskly without reaming it out.

Funny, here in Socal comparable Camrys tend to be cheaper than Accords, at least on the low end. Not sure about the higher end models.
I think it depends on factory dealer/customer incentives. I go by values on http://www.truecar.com

For my Accord, I bought it right around the true dealer cost (~$22,900) because I found a dealer with several '09 Accords on their lot that was looking to move inventory. Another dealer across town that only had one '09 Accord on their lot wouldn't budge past $23,700.

TrueCar is saying the dealer cost on the '09 Camrys is higher than a comparable Accord, so while stickers might be comparable/lower on the Camry, the Accord can be had for less because of a $1500 factory dealer incentive that Honda has on '09s.

Enjoy your wheels. Must be a big change and a lot of adjustments to get used to driving an accord after having driven an accord

Congrats! An Accord is a great car and value in its class. The I4 has plenty of power and gets near 30 consistent MPG on the highway.

My parents are Honda fanatics. A 7th gen Accord, an 8th gen civic, a 2nd gen Pilot and a new Odyssey. They almost beat me up when I got a BMW.

The Accord is one of those cars I have always dug, very nice.

great choice of car, its no wonder honda has such a great reputation for quality, just look at this OP's past? 2 of his 2 Hondas went 220k+ miles.

great choice OP, check out www.vtec.net and http://www.hondaaccordforum.com for some tech tips on stuff you may want for the car.

To give you some ideas, i got these "upgrades" for my 2005 accord v6 (purchased new)
-built in navi
-rubber floor mats & Trunk tray
-window visors to get ventilation in rain
-wheel locks
-PIAA Fog lights
-AnzoUSA Projectors
-Lightwerkz HID
-Curt Trailer Hitch
-whistler Pro-78 Radar Detector

thats all i can think of for now but i'll keep you posted. be sure to check out those other forums to get some great tips on stuff you didn't know your car can do.

how is offering a suggestion to go to a CAR SPECIFIC FORUM marketing?
how is offering suggestions to ad aftermarket parts marketing?

i'd love to work for honda.. its probably better than half the people's jobs on this forum.

It's this kind of attitude that makes you an ahole. You always have to put that last part in, you can't refrain yourself.

It's that line right there that makes your post sound weird. You sound like a car commercial. Nobody talks like that.

It's a bit square, but so am I.

2009 Honda Accord EX-L Sedan I-4 AT (Polished Metal Metallic)

$22800 + TTL

Japanese VIN (no offense to all you Ohioans out there)

This is my third Honda Accord. I took both my previous ones to 220k before I got rid of them.

I never liked the look of the 7th generation Accords, but I think the 8th generation looks awesome (a lot of BMW 3- and 5- series design influences in it).

I'll get pictures up once I get it washed/waxed, but so far it's completely stock with a 35% tint all the way around. The only upgrade I might do down the road is a set of wheels (maybe some Ron Jons if I find a local dealer).

I owned a 93 Honda Accord for 3 years, bought it with around 110k miles on it for $1,000, sold it with 170k miles on it for $750. Only problem I ever had with it was the evaporater broke right before I sold it and it needed some front end work. Thumbs up in my book.

how is that any different than someone else saying something like "the corvette has always been known as the best cheap high performance car in america"
