Got a rebate letter for Circuit City and I don't know what it is for??

I got a letter from circuit city about a rebate I need to send in a receipt for and I dont know what it is for. IT says file number #20004101433 Program #9228. Anyone know anything???

You are a lot safer dealing with B&amp;M stores' rebates. At least you can bring the documents to claim for the rebate at the store if something went wrong.

If this &quot;scamming&quot; by Circuit City continues, find out what state the company is headquartered in and contact the Attorney General's office. Many times this can be done over the Internet. The Better Business Bureau is another good one. I did this when Quantum was giving me trouble with rebates and it scared the crap out of Quantum. I am still getting apologetic e-mails from middle management lackies at Quantum making sure my rebate problem was resolved satisfactorily.

I got a similar letter, but it said the envelope I sent in for my rebate was post marked too late. I never sent in a rebate though.

Try 1.888.869.4417 That's one of several telephone numbers I have for the CC rebate center in Virginia. If you don't save copies of everything though, you're unlikely to have any luck with claims like this. If you plan to continue submitting rebates, do yourself a favor: Keep scans of all the documentation and use something like Rebate-Rebate to track your rebates.

FWIW: I haven't found CC to be any worse than any other fulfillment center -- most take 10-12 weeks rather than the stated 6-8. As far as these places are concerned, the clock doesn't start until they enter the documentation and that is usually 3-4 weeks after they actually receive it.

Apparently not in this case, since Circuit City is a B&amp;M store . In addition to what Athena said, I recommend keeping the box/enclosure as well, just in case you cut out the wrong thing (confusing UPC with Proof of Purchase, for example).

LOL yeah right. Even if most of the ones on there are real, they're idiots to have put out more than they could afford to lose... not to say I don't feel sorry, but it is their fault for being idiots and putting more than they could handle to lose. You NEVER should put out more in rebates or stocks or anything than you can afford to lose, as there's no guarantee it will come back.

I got the same sort of notice about an $8 rebate for AA batteries that I sent in just before Christmas. It said that I hadn't sent in the original receipt which I definitely had. I sent in the copy that I'd kept and received the rebate about a month later.

The notice that they sent me had contact information because I know I sent them an email about it.
