Just a slight brag thread as I got accepted into grad school this past weekend. Got my undergrad in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and I'm staying at the same school to get a masters in Engineering Technology Management. I'm particularly proud of getting in this year because the job market blows, so there has been a LOT more applicants from people who couldn't find a job before graduation and wanted to stay on for more school as a last resort.

which school?

Colorado School of Mines

Most people outside of CO have never heard of it. It's an engineering focused school, with no math below Calculus offered.

Congrats!

I recently accepted a graduate research assistantship offer as well. Going to get an MS in CS at UT Knoxville. Hopefully we can get better jobs in two years once we have our MS and the economy recovers.

My background is in analytical chemistry (9+ years) but I am going over to the dark side and got accepted into a MBA program.

Congrats!!

I started my MBA last fall at the Unversity of Dallas, but parts of me think they just wanted my money

Actually, it would be my work's money (at least $5,250 a year at least)...

I started my MBA part time last year. The nice thing is that my employer is paying for a portion of it, but I am still going out of pocket for 75% of it. An MBA is a good way to help you move into a new career direction AND to help you with that job search when it comes to differentiating yourself from the rest of the field.

Currently a BS/MS student at Drexel. Will be working for the govt when I get out as a result of a scholarship (guaranteed job FTMFW)

Be forewarned, graduate-level classes are a lot harder than undergrad classes. They seem easier during class; but then when you have a few 15 - 20 page papers due during finals, the pressure will be on.

Way to go!

I ought to go back for a Master's but I'm not sure I could do it while working. I graduated in May 2008 but already it seems like I've forgotten just about everything except for C!

I could go to SUNY Binghamton or possibly Cornell. I'm thinking either CS, Systems Engineering, EE, or Computer Engineering which is my undergrad.

The only good thing about doing it while working is that work will pay for it 100%.

Nice. My 'guaranteed' job fell through when the economy took a shit. I had an internship with US Steel this past summer, got a full time offer, and was ready to move out during this summer after I graduated. After everything happened they told everybody during our spring break that we didn't have jobs anymore. Nice timing... after our career fair and everything. Oh well

Yeah... after a full 4 years of real engineering this grad school thing isn't going to hurt any worse.

Congrats. I got my MBA a few years ago...not quite engineering, but I'm proof that anyone can get a Master's.
