Hello I ordered all of my computer parts and I want to put them it together now.. I've never done this before so I'm not 2 sure what to do first . Is there any site or anything where I can look and see what I should be doing before I put it together? Is there anything I should follow or anything?

Leave the sound blaster out until everything else works. Put it in the bottom most PCI slot.

Yeah, I never get it right the first time. And I do it all the time. There's always something you forget or do wrong. Just...please. Don't forget the heatsink. lol.

I recommend get a 12 Pack of Bud Ice, drink them all, and then start putting your computer together.

Everyone knows alcohol makes you more careful and able to troubleshoot better

Seriously, read the guides, print them out, and then build. Take your time and read everything at least twice before even attempting to do something.

if you don't have a wrist strap make sure to ALWAYS be touching the case with your hand or bear arm or som piece of skin to ground yourself when putting in the mobo or other exp. cards

You can also read my walk thru where I took pictures.

Start with putting the PS in the case. Then the MB in the tray.
From there things will fall into place.
Check your PS connectors when you attach them to the MB, make sure no pins get pushed back.
Like others have said, don't freak out if it doesn't boot the first time.
After it boots, run Memtest to see if your memory is stable. If you get errors, relax timings to 2336. If your memory is running at 2225, you may get random crashes when installing XP.

i was told somewhere that you should put the drive in before the mobo,

lets say you have the mobo in and then put in the drives you could drop them on the mobo

thats the only reason though i think

Naw, in most cases, the drive goes in the front, or the side, so it won't be near the MB.
But it's a good idea to install the CPU, paste, heatsink, and fan into the MB in the tray before putting it in the case. That way you have more room to work and won't slip with the screwdriver when putting the heatsink on.
Move very slowly around the computer so you don't drop or bump something.
This isn't a race, one thing at a time. And don't let your dog or little brother into the room.

blackinches recommends the latest arctic silver as would many people on the forums. be careful how you apply it, there are instructions somewhere on the net on how to apply it properly, but blackinches cannot find the link at the moment.
