Got an iPhone 6 today and having wifi connectivity issues

I'm experiencing some wifi issues on my new iPhone 6. The wifi seems to intermittently drop and can't reconnect. In fact, when it drops and I try to go reconnect, it can't find any routers/wifi connections.

I am forced to do a hard reboot in order for the wifi to see routers again.

I am using the latest iOS 8.0.2.

Does anyone experience this, whether on a different model iphone or iOS version? And have you figured out a way to fix it?

I've done the reset network settings and it still happens.

Thanks!

I have the iPhone 6 + and I have no problem with the wifi at all! Like you said, go do a hard reboot. I really have no idea. Maybe it's your router? I can't think of anything tbh. Let us know how things go.

So far, no issues today. Did some googling and it appears it's not just me that has this problem. Could just be that iOS 8.0.2 did not fix all the wifi issues. I'll keep monitoring it and see if there's a pattern of some sort.

Try resetting your networking settings. Mine was funky with wifi. Did that. Cleared things up.

Happened to me a couple times. I think my iCloud keychain is glitched and got even glitchier when I tried to activate it on an iMac. It was around that time I tried to activate it again on my phone and then noticed the WiFi issue where it couldn't see any networks. I had to reboot my phone to get it to see WiFi networks again.

So this morning, turned on my iphone and saw that it lost the wifi connection again. No idea when it happened, maybe overnight or possibly when I turned it on. When I say turned on, i mean it was plugged in and just in standby mode and I hit the home button to wake it. When it loses wifi connection, I can't even find any networks to join in the wifi settings. It's like some bug in the software prevents it from seeing any networks.

Had to do a hard reboot (which thankfully is super fast on iP6) and immediately it was connected again to wifi. So that makes it about 2 days since the last wifi drop.

Hope 8.1 will solve this issue.

why the hell do I need the iphone 6 to use apple pay. Just one more reason to force you into a new product.

to top it all off I got locked out of my apple ID somehow. Im just tired of apple and IOS 8.0.2 and it crappy Wifi bugs. My wifes 5 has many more problems and bugs than just Wifi . I should have never rolled the dice an went to IOS 8

You'll get Apple Pay for iOS apps. The reason you won't get Apple Pay payments at restaurants/retailers with an older phone is because the older devices simply can't do it. They don't have the NFC hardware.

[edit]
Also, the 5/5c/5s *can* do Apple Pay at restaurants/retailers if you have the Apple Watch.

How is ios 8 not apples fault? You tell me
your issues sound like they are your issues....
I have a new iPhone 6+ and just bought the wife an iPhone 6 and we have no connectivity issues or issues of any kind.......

Now if there were several million users with connectivity issues....

WiFi disconnecting on my iPhone 6, have to disable and reenable to fix it.

Multitasking gestures stop working on my iPad Air, have to disable/reenable to fix it.

Both on 8.0.2, hoping 8.1 fixes both!

Had similar issue on my iPhone 6 yesterday, wouldn't connect / see any Wifi networks, but once I reset network settings I was able to reconnect.

There are many people in Apple's support forums reporting this issue.

I had this exact same problem on my work issued iPhone 5, and now having it again with my work issued 5S. Maybe it's iOS 8? Though I know I had the problem with iOS 7 on the iPhone 5.

Not personally having it on either of my 6's but I've heard it was a 5ghz related issue. Try turning off 5ghz on your router and connecting your phone and see if that resolves the issue. I've seen a few reported cases online so it's not isolated to 1 or 2 people. Large enough of an issue they should address it with the 8.1 release.

My 5 went nuts last friday. Wouldnt connect to wifi, cell, nada. Called verizon and they overnighted me a new sim, came today but the phone mysteriously started working with the old sim. Just got off the phone with a user who did the 8.02 a couple of weeks ago on her 5s and its locking up, not synching email and dropping cell and wifi and rebooting it only works half the time. So yeah, IOS8 is an issue. I sent an email out to all my i-stuff users to not update anything until all has been tested.
