Now this guy apparently smokes weed and makes no secret of it. His rule for his employees was as long as they don't do the same during business hours then whatever they do on their own time is fine. Well apparently they're building a brick fireplace. He's got my friend cutting the bricks and handing them to him and he's doing the mortar and putting the bricks in. Well I guess the frigging thing was coming out like crap. He's getting all ticked off about it and starts yelling at my friend that he's cutting the bricks to the wrong sizes. My friend looks at the work so far and it's obvious that the nitwit isn't leveling the brick and just laying them in by eye. The boss proceeds to curse him out in front of the customer(probably so he doesn't have to own up to his msitake) for doing a bad job. My friend is pissed now and points out the problem in front of the customer. That didn't make the boss too happy at all. Finally they're outta time and have to leave to come back and finish it the next day. They get back to the truck and my friend sees the boss's weed pipe sitting on the seat full of crud and still warm. Now he knows why the thing was coming out so terrible and asks the boss why the double standard on smoking? That sealed his fate and the douche canned him right there. I guess he should have known when to shut up.

You've posted that before. Or somebody has. Or you stole it from somewhere on the internet =P

That is if this isn't shens.

I'm no longer working for these people and I'm extremely thrilled about it now that I seem to have my foot in the door for another job on Tuesday. I won't filing any kind of lawsuit. They did me a favor today.

To put an end to all the shens calls here. I invite anyone to call them posing as a rep for a job that I had applied for or whatever and ask for Caton Bennett to check on my work ethic. I'm curious to see what he says.

Either way, my brother has set up an interview for me on Tuesday for Fedex. It's loading but it pays $2.50 more an hour than I was making at Bennett's and I can eventually move up to a driving job if I can get in good with some of the route owners which is where you can really make some good money if you have the right route.
Way to go! I hearby remove your 'Dipshit' moniker.

Best of luck to ya, mang.

Me: sir this is not our product it's not even our brand, goto the brands store get proper warranty
Customer: Impossible, I bought this product here and I expect warranty now.
Me: well do you have a receipt.
Customer: Of course I don't have a receipt who keeps these kinds of receipts.
Me: just a sec I'll see what the boss would do in this case.
Me: Boss client wants to warranty product we don't even sell and he doesn't have a receipt can we warranty it anyway.
Boss: NEVER what kind of place do you think this is, we don't work for free and just give away stuff. ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Me: oK then, sorry sir we can't warranty it
Customer literally blows a lid and I though he would pull a gun and shoot me on the spot.
Me: Boss can you come and deal with this, customer is somewhat agitated.
Boss: Sir we'll warranty this right away this time no problem.
Me: confused ???
Later
Boss: You don't have enough experience to deal with customers.
Me: WTF

How do you literally a lid in the context of your situation?

As entertaining this thread is (no disrespect to the OP - I feel your pain for losing your job) but I wonder if there are any legal issues dealing with posting all of this information (including the video) on the net. is the OP exposing himself to any possible legal retribution of any kind? It could come down to he-said, he-said.

What kind of legal issues could I possibly be breaking?

Not yet. That's what I'm gonna work on Monday before I head in to the interview on Tuesday.

The way your boss handled the situation was completely below honor, IMO. You could have grounds for a wrongful termination lawsuit. I'd probably just move on, as that might not be worth the added stress.

Do yourself a favor and apply for some kind of government job like a state office or something within the school district. You would be shocked how much nicer supervisors are and how much more they care about you as a person when the big goal of the job isn't to make some old guy rich. It is seriously like night and day plus the benefits are unbeatable. Not to mention there will be a union to back you up from day 1 if you join it. You will never have to worry about this kind of problem again if you do that.

I'm concerned about your overall well being. You said you were out of college and now out of a job. I'm sure that your devastated and he has damaged your self esteem. Medical leave with therapy might be needed before you could return to the workforce. A tropical vacation to recouperate from this debilitating on the job injury could be important at this time.
The "dipshit" may need anger management classes and classes in dealing with people.

If the OP feels that he needs it and can afford it then that's cool, but keep in mind that just getting out of college combined with being fired means you typically don't have the money to do any of those things.

I was thinking that this injury would be paid for by worker's compensation.

Sounds like wrongful termination; retaliation for whistleblowing. The local news might find this juicy.

Possibly good information for a lawyer. Maybe he'd receive back pay and some damages for the stress it caused due to the wrongful termination.

I've been working for a family owned Home Improvement warehouse for a year and a half now. I go in this morning and begin working as usual. A customer(let's call him Bob) comes in wanting to pick up a kitchen cabinet that he ordered about a month ago. My boss(let's call him dipshit) had apparently called him the night before saying that it was here and ready to be picked up. What my boss didn't notice was that not only was it the wrong cabinet but it was also for the wrong customer. This has happened way too many times to count. He's not a very bright person.

Anyway, Bob is reasonably upset at this point considering he drove 50 miles to come pick it up. Dipshit(my boss) tries to explain to him that the correct cabinet did come for Bob like he said before and that I had given it to the wrong customer yesterday. I let it go and didn't say a word because I didn't want to upset Bob further. I had spoken with him before and he's a really nice guy.

After Bob leaves I confront Dipshit about what he had told asking why he head said that it was my fault. Dipshit completely freaks out on me saying things like, "I can say whatever the fuck I want to", "get the fuck out of my face" etc... I was shocked. He wasn't exactly saying this in a calm manner either. At one point I thought he was going to hit me. I reply back with, "Dude, don't talk to me like that I just wanted to know..." Didshit breaks in, " I can talk to you however the fuck I want to!".

So, at that point I decided it was time for me to grab my paycheck and leave. What the hell just happened! Was I wrong for asking him why he blamed the mishap on me? There's no question that he was wrong in how he responded to me but how am I not supposed to stick up for myself about this. This is my job I don't need anyone coming down on me for something I had no part in.

Cliffs:
- Work for a family owned home improvement warehouse
- Boss messes up tells customer to come and pick up a cabinet that isn't there
- I get accused because my boss was trying to cover his own ass
- Confront boss and get cursed out by boss
- Get fired for asking why he blamed it on me

Well, I'd bring it up to someone in HR, or the owner if you have access. It might be satisfying to see dipshit get fired too.

I'd love to but there is no HR. Dipshit is actually the owner's son. Did I not mention this? He's not going anywhere.

Is there Lowes or Home Depot nearby? Dipshit will soon be out of business if he keeps screwing up customer orders...no matter who he blames it on.
