Judging by the internet tough guy responses by the OP, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who made a mountain out of a molehill.

Probably
Having worked in retail, I can think of all the times people won't accept responsibility for anything.
You used your account to reserve a copy. It doesn't matter if it's a retail purchase, you're the one who brought your account into the transaction. The clerk was only doing what he's supposed to by collecting late fees. If you don't want to be responsible for your mother's fees, tell her to get her own account.
Well tough shit then if they just so happened to put it on a single receipt. I would've paid the fucking thing and went home.Originally posted by: DVad3r

Actually you don't need to use your account to reserve a copy. You can walk into the store, put a deposit, they print a receit, and that's that. Just that I so happened to be renting movies at that time they put the transaction on a single receit. How hard is it get through your thick skulls that one has nothing to do with the other? The guy was being a total douche, end of story. I don't know whether he had balls or he was a total obnoxious suburb teen idiot, but I am thinking the latter.

lol @ the responses here
Like I said, it's not an issue of paying the $ 6, the issue is being black mailed into paying it or else I lose my deposit, that's not cool. If I was renting that is a different story, I agree, be an ass all you want although even then they can defer fee's to be paid at a later time.
I worked in the customer service industry, I know how it's like, in fact I worked as a bouncer for 2 years. In that field of work, you can either be a total asshole and get into major confrontations, or you can be smart about your work and talk to people nicely. What the guy at blockbuster did today was get into a confrontation and he was a total asshole about it. It's not his job to be the fee GESTAPO and use deposits for retail movies as leverage.
He acted thug style, it's alright, if I ever run into him personally away from blockbuster it will be a different story
