I guess you have little experience with retail. Management will bend over and take it in the ass on a regularly basis for whiney customers. You weren't right, he just wants your business.

Oh, and just about every store I've seen has plenty of copies of The Dark Knight for $14.99.

That is exactly what happens...hahaha...when I was an assistant manager, custmers used to come to me to complain about rude cashiers and baggers and how they did not say thank you or they wouldn't give them a price change. To make them happy, I'd just pull the cashier or bagger off the register, go to the visible room above, and just shoot the shit with the employees while making hand gestures to make it look like I was yelling at them. I'd come back down and the customer would be all happy because I "set them straight"...
