GOT IT NOW> THANKS <Installed a new NIC, but the option for DHCP is grayed out. I need it for ICS. Any help?

Lightening came in and took out a few of my peices of my network a couple nights ago. I bought a new switch instead of a hub and now running the network at 100tx full duplex. The only problem is I cant get DHCP to work on one of the machines.

HELP PLEASE

Operating system? Brand/model of NIC? Version of drivers? Other hardware installed?

Did you try setting all the connections to AUTO instead of forcing 100 Full duplex??? How old are these items, and what kind of switch?

Sorry for not giving enough info. Switch is new Linksys EZXS55W. The NIC is a Linksys LNE100TX. Im running W98SE. Thats about it for the network hardware. Drivers i got are the supplied drivers. Might try that next.

I have not tried setting to auto. I set the new one to 100 full duplex and an old one on another machine to 100 full duplex. Those 2 have great throughput, but the new one I cant enable DHCP

feels foolish now.
Let Windowz find an IP for me and it made the DHCP come back up for me. So now i know that is not the problem. Still cant use interenet from that terminal.

Guess ill look at the ICS guruz pages.

GOT IT NOW! After doing some figuring it turned out to be while messing around i turned on for IE to use proxy and pointed it to the DUN machine. Turned that off and now im up and running again.
