I just got some Arctic Silver II and a Gladiator and I'm going to overclock my 800Duron to 1Ghz. I had some thermal grease on my Duron before. Should I wash it off or can I just squeeze the AS2 on top? Wish me luck!
Should I try to change the FSB to 133 to make 800 go to 1000?(8x100 to 8x133) I have a FIC AZ11E and PC133 memory but I don't know its latency. I heard that you get a better performance boost when the FSB is higher. What do you people recommend?
same set up here, but my damn mobo only has the VIA KT133 not the KT133A so im stuck with about a 105 - 107 FSB. but the multiplier is at 9 and i run solid at 38 degrees and 42 loaded. not bad but i also have a custom case.
but yeah clean the old compund off no matter what! nail polish remover and alcohol (rubbing) work well.
