Got my G2x yesterday and so far I'm loving it.
Its running 2.3.3 gingerbread.
I'm on T-mobile and I switch between the Vibrant and IP4 quite often with 80% toward the IP4 unless I'm traveling and I need 3G/4G speed.
My biggest gripe with Android was 1) battery life 2) lagginess of the UI.
With the dual-core, seems like the lagginess is pretty much minimized.
I can honestly say that the smoothness difference between the G2x and the IP4 is not noticeable.
I have not rooted the phone.
I tried ADW and now I use Go Launcher as its much smoother.
Battery life is not close to the IP4 but better than the Vibrant.
Another thing that bugged me about the Vibrant was the keyboard.
I text alot and I'm always making mistakes vs the IP4 but the keyboard on the G2x is super responsive.
The GPS is perfect. Locks in 10secs.
The best thing is now I get to enjoy 3g/4g full time.
Previously I enjoyed using the IP4 that much more that I'm willing to endure EDGE.
This will be my main phone now.
I've been pro-iphone ever since the IP4 came out and to be honest, Android was getting boring to me.
Getting this dual-core Android changed my mind.
I can't wait for the nest generation Android with the new 1280x720 display.
I will probably still get an IP5 when it comes out as I'm a phone enthusiast.
The speedtest is inside my house.
