Got my first Smartphone Razr Maxx HD...need a case

Can someone recommend me a case for my new phone? I am looking for something that won't make it super bulky but gives it some protection from wear and tear...

Also a recommended screen protector.

I have the Otterbox Commuter for my standard Droid Razr Maxx. It nearly doubles the thickness of the phone but it is some serious protection and the end result (phone + case) is still thinner than my old phone+case was.

I found the phone exceptionally slippery without a case, so the Commuter definitely helps there. It takes some getting used to putting it on the phone - it really feels like you're going to break something but it does go on.

I would suggest looking at Amazon - I bought mine cheaper there compared to buying direct.

Otterbox cases are very solid and durable (although most of their cases are too bulky for me). I've had a case-mate case that lasted me a while.

First of all, stop trolling. And secondly, it's Kevlar, not carbon fiber or faux carbon fiber.
And some people drop their phones. Why questions everyone's needs?

Otterbox has always been my favorite. The Defender in particular but keep in mind it makes your phone substantially thicker. And if change your mind getting it off is a real bastard.

Well #1 I have three small children...enough said

#2, I find the phone to be a tad slippery and wanted a more tactile feel...

My co-worker gave me his case that he bought (simple silicone cover) nothing too special...so it works for #2...

Thanks for the references to the other folks...maybe down the road I will invest in a better case but the one I have now is pretty good for my needs.

TPU style cases are great.

First, wasn't trolling. Just find it curious, amusing, weird that everyone takes an already large phone that the manufacturers went to great expense to make as small and thin as possible and make it large and bulky.

The Razr HDs are still Ice Cream. Jelly Bean is supposed to come before years end, but there were some rumblings of 17 December and Moto looking for soak test volunteers.

Also, the Moto SmartActions app updated with Jelly Bean support in the changelog.

iPhone 4's signal becomes erratic and weak without a case. It is probably the only phone that needs a case for satisfactory connection.

Otterbox doubles the thickness of phones. It's great if you plan on taking your phone to WW3, but that's not the case for most people. I don't find it practical. Plus they use silicone which is notorious for warping. It's like trying to stuff oversized boxers into your pants after a while because you're just trying to get the silicone stuffed underneath the plastic shell.

I ordered a WAGG screen protector...as for why I let a kid play on the phone...it isn't like I am going to hand them the phone and say go balls out...they like to mess with my wife's phone. I have had it all of two days and am still trying to figure it out.

I am sure there will be a moment in life that they will want to play a game or surf the internet...SO...call me crazy but I am sure they will put there hands on it at some point in life...out of curiosity...do you have any kids?

As for the phone itself this thing is in a word...Amazing. Adding that silicone case works great, doesn't make the profile that much bigger and fits fine in my hand. It is SO fast...I came from this phone so it is hard to be let down
