Okay......I switched from a fully featured Iriver for a 5G ipod. Couldn't be happier.

I have to agree that Bose and MOnster = crap though.

I switched from a 5G Ipod I got for $80 to a Gigabeat. Couldn't be happier.

The greatest thing Jobs did was convince the world that his products were perfect. People clamor to buy something thats way overpriced, lacks many features of modern MP3 players, and really isn't all that great.

He does it with flashy features. It's like little kids and blinking lights, they love them. Little distractions to make you think you're euphoric. In reality, he's robbing you blind and loving every minute of it.

Putting Apple in the same group as Monster and Bose is a bit cruel, isn't it?

In my mind, I see it this way:

Monster = Sells a mediocre $5 cable for $80
Bose = Sells a mediocre $50 radio for $400
Apple = Sells a fairly good $200 media player for $300

The first two sound much worse to me!

Yet mostly every hardware review website on the internet will give Apple's iPod a great rating. So I guess they are all morons as well? There's no denying that the iPod is a great product with simplicity of use, maybe it is a little overpriced, but in my opinion you are paying for a good quality product.

As far as I know, Apple's competitors sell their devices for the same price per gigabyte.
