Got my new amp :)

Sweeeet, my QSC RMX 850 amp just arrived...I love this thing. Plenty of power, and its sooo clean and with no hum! It has a clip thing that cleans up overloaded signals, and a selectable 30-50hz filter that really cleans up the bass....I love it

Hmm...nope, since those don't really exist Its an amp...it takes a signal, in my case from my mixer, and amplifies it to 200 watts, and pushes it out to my speakers.

It takes away bass below the selected level(i picked 30 hz for my speakers). Most full-range speakers are not designed to play signals lower than 30hz, and more compact speakers are not designed for less than 50. Subs can handle it, so they don't need the filter...my speakers aren't great, but they sure don't suck, and the 30hz filter does help in some songs.

Well, I'd say it's &quot;protecting the speaker from it's own suckiness&quot;, but to each his own

it's gotta have specs! (me loves cool specs ) What about THD levels? how many channels? Ohms? RMS?

It's not the worlds best amp, far from it...but it is one of the better ones at that power level, and I don't need more power than that, so buying a better one would have been a waste for me.

Nice...just got a QSC PLX 1602 not so long ago, and it's SWEET. QSC makes nice stuff. It's also about half the weight of my old amp, and outdated Peavey CS-400.

Now all I need is that Marshall JCM-900...

Crown K2....no equal for bass application (accept maybe the Macrotech 5000 or Studio Reference 1)

Yea, the PLX's are really nice. I was thinking about going with that model, but I don't need that much power, so I backed off to the RMX. Crown amps are excellent as well, I was also considering the CE1000...but once again, same deal, I sacrifice some power that I don't need to save a pretty good amount.
