Did you get the optional Supercharger? Is it pretty quick off the line?

Sorry, I didn't see the second set of pics until later. No supercharger, but it's still a pretty quick car w/o one. It's about 1.5 seconds quicker than my 2002 Mazda P5 from 0-60.

Congrats! Enjoy the new car smell

No s/c available yet, prob not till november.

pretty kewl. every review i've read has it rated very high. toyota packed it with value and no competitor comes close. only thing that bothers me is the badge design looks just tacky and cheap.

i'll probably buy this car (tc) from someone like you next year for around $9,000. Its worth the wait i suppose.

I have a feeling they will have very good resale value.

You're right since im gonna get the supercharged one and buy it a year or two later for at least $3-6,000 less, still saving me some fat in my wallet.

I doubt resale value will stick since it has the scion name, even if it is a toyota.

You're right im gonna wait till the ones with the supercharger start selling (later this year) and buy one a year or two later for at least $3-6,000 less, still saving me some fat in my wallet.

I could understand the resale value not be all that good, but to drop to 9k just seems a bit over the top. I applaud your decision to get a used one though.

Dude, resale is going to be very high - one of the selling points (whether you want to believe it or not) is that it IS a toyota. On top of that, Toyota is doing short product cycles, and will kill off each scion vehicle without making a next generation of any model - the current models will be out for 3-4 years, then they will be permanently discontinued - thus creating a demand for a vehicle, and preserving resale.

Sounds like the Z, but we'll see what happens. Even if you are correct, more options will be available later for the same price they charge now, so its worthwile to wait (convertible?). Also it is possible to get this now at about 16k (minus title/tax, etc) and im betting it will drop a few k from that number.

Ya Ill keep em for a while then prob get these.

Those are nice. keep in mind, not all potenza's are crappy.. the RE-92's on the maximas sure are.. but I bought a set of Potenza 730 gen2's for my car, and they are badass tires, i love them to death.

Nice! Congrats.

Now, if I see that needle once go above 3500 during the break-in period, I'll come hunt you down and beat you with a bent connecting rod for mechanical abuse.

Its been over 3500, its hard not to take that car over 3500, but havent really gone over 4.

weird how some places want the breakins to be done.. i believe drive it how you normally would right off the bat.. don't baby it IMHO.. all i was told was dont stay at steady speeds (highway speeds) for 1000 kms.
i hit 6,000+RPM first time i drove my car brand new off the lot.. it's NOT a big deal.
