What would you get instad? Mustang GT? 300HP for under $25k. WOOHOO! Next!

Legacy GT 25k for 250/250. Add another k and you're at 300/350

Gas mileage in the low 20's.
Next.
LGT gets low 20's in the city, mid 20's on the highway. All depends on your foot

Acura's are nice cars, but overpriced I think. Congrats on your new car though. Looks like it will be a blast to drive!

I've had a TSX since they came out. I've put about 36,000 miles on mine to this point. I regularly get 29 to 31 MPG using premium. I'm not a heavy foot by any means however.

I bought for the same reason as OP. Wanted something more luxurious than your standard car with tight handling and four doors that still got pretty good gas mileage.

I've put a nice tint on mine also. I don't have the navi as I live in a city that's impossible to get lost in, but I have read that many of the metallic tints will block the signal. Other than that, I haven't done too much, although I'm looking at a sway bar.

He was telling me that his auto TSX gets better gas mileage than my manual 1.6l civic (32-35mpg)...I wasn't in the mood to argue with him, but I don't see how that's possible. Let me know what type of mileage you're hitting
Your friend is full of bs. Even keeping it under 2500-3000 rpm at all times, even while on the highway won't net you 40mpg on a 2.4l engine.

OP, nice car, have fun with it.

Thats totally true, no 40mpg crap.. my max I gotten was 32mpg on all highway with slow acceleration and constant speed... no speeding, etc.. avg is 26/27 on highway w/o speeding and around 24/25 with stop and go traffic and speeding..

antisway bar makes a big difference... so much stiffer and corners a lot better... and its cheap.. I got the progressive bar because it comes with poly bushing.. comptech uses rubber..

IT for financial services company.

It's nice but not THAT nice.
It's only a $25-30k car. Camry's and Accord's cost more than it

4850 rpm VTEC point decreased from 6000 rpm
7600 rpm Rev limit

Maximum power gain 32 hp at 6000 rpm
Peak torque increases from 165ft/lbs at 4700 rpm to 168 ft pounds at 4700 rpm
Peak power increases from 201 hp at 7100 rpm to 204 at 6800 rpm
Very wide flat smooth torque curve. 90% of peak torque available from 2000-7000 rpm.
Passes Californian smog testing (no measurable difference from stock)
Fully dealer compatible - works with all Honda scan tools and equipment

I'm thinking about it but I don't want to void the warranty should any problems arise.
The Hondata ECU for the '06s net even more gains than for the '04.

have you check tsxclub.com / tsx.acurazine.com ?

Getting FormulaOne Pinnacle ceramic tint. I've done my research.
Already on both forums (more on AZ)

Definitely getting a sway bar. Progress makes a nice one but it's harder to find than the Comptech (for a good price).

Nice car.

I had alittle fun with one awhile back on the freeway. This was just short 70-100mph sprints. I could hear his v-tec kick in every time he smashed it but the little I4 just can't hang with a v8.

Meh, can't prove you have ECU mods if you remove them before taking it in Besides, you don't need an engine warranty on a Honda

Oh yes, definitely forgot to say GJ on getting the MT

TSX is awesome deal. at ~30k, no other car even touches it in terms of features. the Nav is one of the best, with a huge 8" screen. Dual climate control, leather, power seats, auto dimming mirrors, HID headlamps. Nice quiet comfortable ride, with more than enough power.

In terms of power/torque. I can care less that some crappy american car can get to a destination 5 minutes faster than I did that I'll have to service every other week. HP & Torque is really not that important to a lot of people. If I'm going to spend 30k on a car, it better have some nice luxury features.

i suggest you research about swapping for an aftermarket ECU on a bone stock car. increasing the rpm, lower vtec, etc. will obviously put more stress on the engine.

join honda-tech.com if you're thinking about tuning your car. they have a forum just for TSX models. you should do some research before you change your ECU. now, i don't know a lot about tuning cars, but researching before you tune your car is common sense.

Meh, the only thing that's going to add more stress per se is upping the rev limited. VTEC crossover has no effect on longevity. Hell, even upping the rev limiter won't do a whole lot since you don't sping 7500rpm on a consistent and extended basis.
