That's bullshit.
If you guys aren't lawyers and you're giving advice like you are then I"m sorry this is epic fail.
You guys shouldn't be using your social compass to judge me.
I volunteer 40 hours at a Palliative care Facility in my city,
I am a Computational Physics University student
And I'm a upstanding citizen of society.
I don't bitch and moan about tickets, I openly accept them. However when you confiscate a device that wasn't being used or proof of being used infront of the officer that sets off flags.
Please if you don't have legal advice save your moral posts and send em to my PM box.
Good afternoon.
If you want legal advice, seek out and retain an attorney. I'm not sure how things work in Canada, but US attorneys are not going to give you advice over a message board for a number of reasons related to standards of professional responsibility.
While it's wonderful that you're a student and that you volunteer, you really can't carry over "good deeds" into the breakage of any laws and call it even. Really want to go and get your vaporizer back? Give them a call, I'm sure the cops will be happy to test it for residue and subsequently charge you with whatever applicable possession laws apply. Again, not sure how it works in Canada, but it sounds like these cops let you off easy.
Next time, either don't do it, or do it where you aren't going to get caught if you insist on doing it. As for demands that no one respond unless they're giving you legal advice, eat it. This is a public forum and you're opening yourself up to public judgment of your behavior by posting it. Request the thread deleted and PM the lawyers on the board if you don't want to hear it.
