I only got the key in the 32 bit. I thought the 64 bit would have its own key. me so sad now

MS really bungled it. It was not listed anywhere on Technet events, etc. Many people were looking for the event, knowing that MS always has them, but couldn't find it.

It was full of people from the general public. And many oem's, partners, etc didn't get in.
There was such a fuss made that MS called people a few days before the event to verify if they were going, so they could open some spots for OEM's, partners etc.

I can not believe I missed out on this too. I would gladly have drank half a dozen while installing 7. I just doubt any of my buddies would show up lol.

No. Windows keys do not include their "bitness". A key is good for either version.

Do I need a fully authenticated Vista or XP load installed just to blow the HD away and clean install? Can it be tricked? I'd rather avoid keeping a ghost of the old OS around in case for a reinstall.
